    Not great

    rating18 Aug 2025

The room was tiny, dark and the bucket lift had a great view straight into the room! Returned home with many bed bug bites. A friend who was in another room also went home with bites. Staff not great and I didn't even attempt the breakfast.

Lovely, high quality, reasonably priced hotel.

Lovely place in a great location, with very friendly and welcoming staff. I thought it was very reasonably priced for the quality of accommodation. It has a warm and traditional chalet feel and was spotlessly clean at all times. We were a group of three, 1 adult, 2 teenage boys (16 and 18) and stayed in a triple room (room 21). The room was nicely decorated, the 3 single beds were comfortable, the bathroom was a decent size, the shower was powerful and always hot. Our room didn't have a balcony, as not every room does, but this didn't bother us particularly. It was a South-facing room, and the view was superb.Breakfast - continental with high quality breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, eggs, cereal, quiche and tarts. Perfect.Wifi - free, not quite up to streaming, but fine for everything else.Ski and boot storage - plenty room in the ski room accessed from outside. Boot room with dryers/warmers accessible from reception.Nearby - 3 ski rental shops within a few meters of the hotel, loads of restaurants and bars within a very short walk. Ski access - bucket lift across the road which takes you to the bottom of the pistes. You can ski back to the hotel, but it's pretty flat so not much good on a snowboard!Criticisms - nothing of note. The room was too hot on the first night, even with the radiator switched off. Open the window in the evening and it's fine, as long as there is no-one singing on the street in the early hours! If I return to Alpe d'Huez, I'll probably go back to this hotel.

    Great location poor communication

Great location facing bucket lift and close to restaurants.Hotel didn't reply to any of our many instant messages or emails asking questions, in the months before arrival. Disappointing! Great view from balcony of room overlooking town, swimming pool and ice rink. Room was good size.Nice hot chocolate in cafe below hotel.

Very unfriendly staff, great hotel and location

    rating11 Mar 2024

We booked this hotel as the reviews were good and we were really looking forward to our annual ski trip. Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionist who instantly took a disliking to me and my work colleagues! Threatening to call the police if we make even the slightest bit of noise. I can only presume this was because we were British males who were happy and just having a good time. Well from then on if there was even a bit of noise in the whole hotel we were blamed, often being threatened they’d remove us from the hotel without a refund. Obviously this made us feel very uneasy and even slightly paranoid about the whole situation. Do not stay here if you want to have fun.

    Lovely hotel in great location

Located just near ski lifts and virtually ski in, ski out. Ideally situated for ski hire, and restaurants. Seems to have been recently refreshed with a nice reception area. Breakfast was continental but excellent with a wide variety of cereals, cheese, bread, ham eggs etc. etc.Staff were great and our room was large with good storage.Heated boot room inside and ski store at side of hotelOnly criticism was the steps leading up to the hotel were not cleared of snow/ice and a little treacherous in ski boots.
