    Perfect family hotel in Chamonix!

    rating22 Mar 2026

I just returned from 6 nights at Les Balcons du Savoy. I had a 1 bedroom suite with my two kids and my friend had a neighboring 1 bedroom suite with her two kids next door. As two single Moms, we’re outnumbered with the 4 kids and two Moms and this hotel was the perfect home base for our crew for a week of skiing in Chamonix. I’ll start with location- it just can’t be beat. With incredible views of Mt Blanc and the mountains from our balconies, I immediately relaxed upon walking into our room. The lift to the Brevent gondola is RIGHT there making easy access to Brevent Flagiere ski area. It is also a 5 min walk to the beautiful city center of Chamonix. If you take ski buses to the other ski areas, there are numerous easy stops with in a short walking distance (short enough for kids in ski boots carrying skis) and the reception will help advise on which buses etc. I can’t say enough about the location. I could not get over how ideal it is at this price. Atmosphere - super cozy, warm family friendly. With a classic alpine look and feel, excellent breakfasts and incredible kind staff, we felt so at home here. Pool and game room provided excellent entertainment for kids after skiing. Rooms were spacious with decent well equipped Kitchenette if you wanted to cook (we didn’t). Coming from the states, where anything with this type of view and location would be insanely expensive, I was just blown away by this hotel. I also loved its classic authentic feel - not like a big, sterile hotel- which is just what we wanted. If you want a warm, authentic, convenient and cozy alpine experience, this is the place!

    Best Value Lodging in Chamonix

    rating05 Sept 2025

From the Flixbus stop, it seemed the hotel was very far. But once we dropped off our luggage, it actually took us 10-15 mins to walk to Super U and the restaurants. Not bad at all. The best thing about this hotel wasn’t the location was convenient but it had a beautiful view of Mont Blanc. From our room’s balcony, Mont Blanc was within our sight all the time. And the field in front of us was the landing site of paragliding, so it’s a sight to behold too. Our room came with a kitchen, dinette and sofa bed. Very spacious. We didn’t get housekeeping everyday though. During our 6-day stay, we got only once. But with the rate, it’s totally understandable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They had laundry, swimming pool and sauna onsite too.

    a beautiful landscape

For that price, I had expectations. We had a 2-room apartment that also had a kitchen. At first glance, everything was clean. After settling in, we started to notice certain aspects: the bathroom without a window or ventilation, the kitchen with a coffee maker but no kettle, the slippers were missing, the furniture was old and dirty. The curtain on the door was dirty to say the least: it was filthy. However, the breakfast was very good and the ladies who were in charge of the breakfast were very involved
