  An incredible hotel. I walked past the spa and rooms being built a few years ago and hoped one day to stay here. It was exactly what I hoped and more. The outdoor jacuzzi and sauna were just perfect, with incredible views. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the balcony view, and the beds were just perfect. I will be back.   Lykke it’s a rather strange experience, location is very good; rooms are renovated 244-344, spacious with 35 sqm 7/10-breakfast if a 6/10; quite friendly reception staff but - hotel has a strange design - simple Nordic style with modest lobby on the back ; there are 2 buildings - if you are on the SPA side you need to walk across the street to breakfast - live with a congested ski room. We hated the fact that you can not put any extras in the room- it is a pay as you go service , you need to pay drinks - massage at the spot, bar is closed at 11- lobby has to be vacated at 11:15; it feels like a student sport camp; you need to walk to the bus station/ wait - leave the bus walk to the gondola - or pay 30 euros for a 5-10 min ride; - summary : avoid it if you expect a little bit luxury and pampering from a 4 star hotel.2.5/5 for value ; 3 - service; 4 - location 3 - facilities Reception Lykke, at Lykke Hotel & Spa Chamonix, responded to this review Dear guest,We are pleased that you appreciated our location and the friendliness of our staff during your stay. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused; this layout allows us to provide more and better facilities for our guests. We also take note of your comments regarding congestion in the ski room, as this helps us continue improving the guest experience.Regarding our “pay as you go” policy, this is in line with legal requirements, as it is not permitted to hold a credit card as a guarantee for extras in the room.   We are very disappointed with the reception. Two members of staff informed us that it would be possible to accommodate us for access to the spa. A third person then intervened to refuse us entry, claiming that the spa was fully booked and that access for external guests was prohibited from 4:00 p.m.Staying in a nearby hotel, we were nevertheless able to observe that the spa remained almost empty throughout the evening. A clear lack of consistency and professionalism.   A great experience - would happily stay again

  We spent 4 nights at the Lykke for a ski holiday - A family of four with two roomsThe rooms are a good size and comfortable - we slept well and enjoyed them. The Spa was nice after a day's skiing. The pool was at a good temperature. It is over the road from the main hotel where our rooms were (though there are rooms on that side too) so we did walk over in spa robes and boots - a source of amusement but it's a very short hop so not enough to get cold.The breakfast buffet was a hit with all - great patisseries in particular. Maybe more space to boil eggs and a couple more tables for busy times would be worthwhile but generally we were very happy with it.And a big thanks to the reception staff who were very helpful and responsive - an issue with the booking (not the hotel's fault) was quickly resolved and without making a fuss and they were also very helpful with access to facilities on the day we were leaving between checking out and actually being collected. I really appreciated their effort to make things work out and make our lives easy.The train station is just next door and restaurants, shops, etc are a short walk so the location is good.From a skiing perspective, walking to the bus for trips to the various resorts was easy enough - about 6-8 min walk from the hotel to Place du Mont Blanc or you could catch the train (though some stations are a bit of a walk from the lifts to the slopes) Maëva Grosset, Guest Services / Front Office at Lykke Hotel & Spa Chamonix, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for choosing Lykke Chamonix for your family ski holiday and for sharing such a detailed and positive review.
