    Great hotel, everything you need, nothing you don’t!

    Bit scruffy on the outside, was a bit worried when we arrived, but need not have been. Inside was fine, friendly reception, room was great, clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was more than adequate. We also had dinner here as arrived fairly late on a Sunday evening. Limited choice but we enjoyed what we ordered, well cooked, nicely presented. Room had a kettle. Nice garden area with a tiny pool.     Disgusting hotel. The carpets in the hallways and bedrooms are filthy - see the picture, we booked 2 rooms and both were disgusting. One had hairs still in the shower and sink. I complained through the global customer service and got a refund and drove 3 hours away. That’s how bad it was!The reception was nice and modern but this is all a trick as the building is shocking.The receptionist told me we were lucky the restaurant was open only as there was a group in tonight…. This place is near a Burger King which was also not open and not much else!The hotel photos online are fairly nice due to lighting and angles but in person the hotel is in a run down industrial area with the building needing serious extensive renovation. The wood facade is damaged and breaking. The paint is peeling everywhere. The pool is dirty.The receptionist admitted he wouldn’t walk on the carpet without shoes.     The exterior of the building looks dated but the interior looks newer. It has an outdoor pool and available activities for kids to play. The front staff spoke fluent english upon our arrival and were all friendly. As it was a bank holiday, the restaurant was not open, but there are available places to eat in walking or driving distance. Our room was clean and looked newly updated, it didnt have a bath as advertised (one the reasons we booked at Holiday Inn) it had plenty of towels available, if you wanted room cleaning and breakfast this was an additional charge when checking in.     Good hotel that needs a lick of paint!

    We recently stayed at this hotel on the way down to Provence as part of our honeymoon. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the interior of the hotel was very clean and tidy as was our room which was dog friendly with baby cot provided for our toddler. Breakfast was ok but i kind of got the impression it was trying to cater for a lot of different types of clientele but not really really succeeding. The continental breakfast items, croissants, pastries, etc. were fine. The hot food selection was poor and unnecessary! The scrambled eggs were disgusting and the sausages and bacon were rock solid like they had been there for days! The exterior of the hotel looked scruffy and unloved, definitely in need of a lick of paint! My 2 year old daughter was disappointed to find that the kids playground pictured on the holiday inn website (and is still there) has been ripped out and no longer exists! As i say the service in the hotel was excellent, and if Holiday Inn were to spend a few euros fixing up the place to reflect the level of service, it would be perfect. The location is great being so close to the A25 and quite a few local amenities. Would stay here again if refurbished.     Good value, clean and modern rooms

    I chose this hotel as it was just over an hour from Calais port so a good stopover on my journey from the UK to Italy. Despite being pretty close to the main road and built-up-areas, the hotel is in a patch of green space that makes for a pleasant environment. It's an older building (maybe 1960s?) but although the exterior is a bit dated and in some places not very smart, the interior and the rooms are modern and in excellent condition. My room was rather cold and the AC could not be adjusted above 19C, so it was pretty chilly (so I switched it off). Other than that, a good and comfortable room with a walk-in shower and all to a good standard. I skipped the breakfast as it was a significant additional cost, so I can't comment on that aspect.
