    Great location, ineffective air conditioning!!

    Superb location adjacent Metz railway station.Nice bar and nice room.However, during a 30c heatwave, you expect the advertised air con to be working right.Sadly this wasn't. Very ineffective and when I asked the receptionist, he wasnt really that bothered. I did ask for a fan but was refused and told to check the air con settings.This sadly did nothing and the second night we stayed, I woke up at 3am covered in sweat and endured a very unpleasant night despite the so called air con being on.Avoid in the summer months..     Just back from a great two night stay at the Campanile Hotel at Metz station. Overall very satisified - great location right next to the railway station, with also excellent and good value parking facilities next door. A 15 minutes easy walk into downtown Metz. A modern clean hotel, with excellent staff on reception, nice rooms and a very good breakfast. I normally dont book these type of hotels but this Campanile is excellent. Overall an ideal good value hotel for a a few days in Metz - which itself is a great city.     Although I checked with both the hotel and Tripadvisor about charging facilities for my electric car, both were wrong. There were no charging facilities at the hotel or at the parking facility across the street. I also asked the hotel prior to my arrival if I should check into the hotel prior to parking and was told to park first and then check in. This was not a good recommendation as there were many flights of stairs and quite a distance to travel with luggage. The accommodations were comfortable and the breakfast was satisfactory. The floor of the shower is very slippery and the front desk did supply a shower mat when I asked for it.     Clean, Modern, Affordable

    It's NEXT door to the train station, modern, clean, quiet and safe. My wife and I were amazed that our station facing room was soundproof adequately that we COULD NOT hear train noise. It's a short hike to the old city thru the train station, but we did not mind. We found restaurants as we walked, and we enjoyed our time in Metz. Special shout out for Fox Coffee nearby and their cold brew.
