  Basic hotel with tiny rooms and mini bathrooms

  when booking on the Kyriad website we had asked for adjacent rooms. Instead when we checked-in the charmless receptionist gave us rooms almost as far apart as possible. I suppose we should have been grateful they were on the same floor.These must be the smallest hotel rooms it is possible to squeeze a double bed into. Minimal clothes storage consists of a few shelves and weird collection of coat hangers on strings, looking more like modern art than anything useful. A cramped bathroom takes up one corner of the room. The mini shower only has a curtain and is barely large enough to turn round in. Finding somewhere to hang damp bath towels was a challenge. Sound insulation is poor. Guests can easily be heard chatting loudly in the corridors late at night or even having sex later in their room next door. Metz is something of a "party town", but this hotel appears to make no attempt to ask guests to keep the noise down for those wanting an early night.Whilst the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, the only really star feature was the breakfast. This was lavish in complete contrast to the accommodation.   Excellent hotel good location

  Old building which has been renovated to a high standard. Room smallish, due in part to the retro fitted bathroom pod, perfectly adequate though. The bathroom was however in need of freshening up. Bed very comfortable and room quiet as we were in a room on the back of the hotel which backed onto a courtyard.AC in room although we did not use this.Walkable to old town, about 20 mins away. Although the hotel has a adjacent restaurant we booked the restaurant La Maison de Manfred on the 9th floor of the Maison Heler Hilton, which is 15 mins walk away and past the Pompidou Centre.Underground parking available.   Lazy and rude service

  Hotel room is tiny. The shower is tiny. The room and bathroom was not particularly well kept or clean. This is secondary to rudeness of the staff. Particularly the evening staff, who went out of his way to be difficult, rude and lazy. He was rude to our group, but also multiple other guests. A request for a drink was made at 11:30 PM and he spent 5 minutes saying we could not drink the drink past midnight before serving. This was fine, especially as the order was 1 coke and two small beers. Therefore we asked that he made the drinks. To which he huffed and then slammed a glass on the bar, breaking it and refused to provide one drink because he didn’t know the price. This guy needs a lot of training on customer service. I’d stay elsewhere in the future unless you want to be spoken too like you are a piece of dirt in the street. Lazy, entitled and rude are not typically good characteristics for the service industry.   Hotel Kyriad - Metz

  Excellent, clean with a warm welcome. Location is nice and quiet and only a short walk to many restaurants and bars. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room. Bed was comfy with nice pillows. Bar and lounge area was really nice with good prices for drinks. The private underground carpark (chargeable) was excellent, secure and monitored with cctv in the reception.   Our room was compact, but clean and comfortable. The hotel has parking, but we didn’t find it. However, there are a number of car parks nearby. It’s a couple of minutes walk to the old town with numerous bars and restaurants. A great place to stay on a visit to Metz.
