    This hospitality business lacks not only hospitality but basic standards of care.

    We booked a 5-night stay at Billie Hôtel Nantes, but our first night was unacceptable and unsafe.The room had a strong chemical odor that did not dissipate even after hours of ventilation. Once we closed the balcony due to the cold, both of us developed immediate physical symptoms—burning eyes and throat for me, and a severe allergic reaction for my husband, including difficulty breathing.The receptionist acknowledged the smell but refused to relocate us or provide basic accommodations such as an extra blanket. The only solution offered by the manager ( per receptionist words) was for us to sleep in the lobby, without blankets, despite us having paid for a room.As a result, my 63-year-old husband was forced to attempt to rest in the breakfast area, while I remained in the lobby. The receptionist said he would provide another room after 2 a.m.(?) and then disappeared to sleep somewhere himself. I stayed in the lobby, where I was expected to sleep on a sofa, and had to wake him at 2 a.m. to get help. Only then did he, half-asleep, give us keys to a different room.In the morning, there was no apology, no acknowledgment, and no effort to remedy the situation.We paid for a habitable room and instead were exposed to conditions that posed a clear health risk. This falls below the basic standards of hospitality and raises serious concerns regarding guest safety and duty of care. Notre réceptionniste de nuit vous a donc indiqué qu’il n’était pas possible de vous reloger le soir même.De votre propre initiative, vous avez choisi de dormir dans le lobby. Suite à un no-show, notre réceptionniste vous a proposé de vous reloger.Je me permets également de préciser qu’au vu des tâches qu’il doit accomplir durant son service, il n’a pas la possibilité de dormir.Enfin, je regrette que vous indiquiez que nous ne nous sommes pas excusés.     Rooms tiny. Loudest housekeeping I've ever heard in my life. They screamed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. everyday. Treated the $20 breakfast buffet like their personal snack bar. Rooms all run down and beat up. I could barely move around. It was so small. There was no water in the room and I had to beg for it. The housekeepers screamed outside the room all day. The staff couldn't have cared less. On their phones, leaning against the wall, taking up the common area. I even had to ask the housekeepers to please. Please be quiet at some point during the day and they ignored me and kept screaming and took up the whole hall with all of their junk. Likewise, our reception team is free to work from the reception lounge — it is also our workplace. Respectful behavior goes both ways. Our team, especially housekeeping and front desk staff, perform their duties with professionalism and kindness. Unfortunately, your attitude and remarks during your stay were perceived as aggressive and inappropriate. Lastly, we remind you that our establishment is a 3-star hotel, offering services and comfort in line with this rating. If your expectations were for a higher-end service, we can understand your disappointment — but that in no way justifies the lack of respect shown toward our staff.     Lovely central boutique hotel

    We spent our first two nights in France at the Billie hotel. It's a lovely little boutique hotel in the centre of Nantes. Rooms were fairly small, but beautifully decorated and the staff were helpful. The location is more at the shopping end of the city rather than where the majority of bars and restaurants are, although there are a few around it. Easy to walk everywhere in the city really, so would recommend. Good value.     Great location very close to many great bars and restaurants. The furnishings are quirky and tasteful, loved the attention to detail. Staff were very helpful, with info on places to go and ordering us taxis to get to the airport super early in the morning. Breakfast limiting for a diary free/gluten free diet - but similar to most hotels in France.
