    The hotel is in a great location; convenient for trains and trams and with a good choice of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. Reception staff are friendly, courteous and efficient. Our room was well presented and cleaned daily.

    The sleepless night

    We left our luggages at the hotel as early check in wasn't possible. But the receptionist was so careless after he put our luggages on the floor, he stepped on my backpack twice. When we came back around 4pm, we still had to wait another 15 minutes together with other guests for our room keys to be ready. Our room was spacious and bright on 5/F, except the view was quite unimpressive. Okay, we just kept the curtains and windows closed. Since the location suited our purpose, we decided to extend 2 nights in Nice and not to change hotel to save the fuss. However, this was the reason why we gave this hotel one star. I found cockroach hiding behind between the desk and fixed planks at the last night of our stay and the hotel staff couldn't catch them. It was right before our bedtime at midnight. We were told the hotel was full and we're given a small single room. We took it anyway as we didn't want something crawling on our faces when sleeping. Roughly after 2am we checked in to the single room and could finally call it a day.

    I chose this place for the location near the train station, but I was pleasantly surprised that my room was also modern, very comfortable and the service was great. The area itself is busy and but only a short tram ride or walk to the promenade and old city

    Not knowing Nice's neighborhoods, we took a chance by booking this hotel based on various reviews. We were disappointed in the location, akin to 42nd Street in NYC or Market Street in San Francisco. It is situated on the main thoroughfare and on top of a KFC. The saving grace was the customer service of the front desk staff who were kind and helpful, even though we couldn't check in early. A train station is located within walking distance as are shopping and food chains. There is no parking onsite and they recommend you walk 3 blocks to a paid parking lot which smells like urine. We found another overnight parking lot 2 blocks in the opposite direction, and for 2 Euros more, was much more safe. It is not a 4 star but more of a 3 star hotel. While it underwent a recent renovation, the floors are uneven; the elevator can literally fit 2 people plus their suitcases; there is no coffee machine or teapot in the rooms, instead you need to go into the main lobby area to use the coffee machine there. Despite that, we had a good night's rest. For those who have never been to Nice and want to be close to the water, this is not your hotel. But if you are coming to/from the train station, this would be very good.
