  booked Mercure Paris Bastille Marais for one of the most important moments of my life—my engagement trip. As an ALL Gold Member, I expected professionalism. Instead, I received a series of service failures that ruined our celebration.​But the worst part wasn't the stay; it was the "service" afterwards. It has been 19 days since I filed a formal complaint. For 17 of those days, they completely ignored me. When they finally responded, the "compensation" offered was an insult: a voucher for the same hotel that failed us! They expect me to spend thousands on flights back to Paris just to use their "gift."​I contacted the Accor Executive Office in Paris, yet they still refuse to provide a flexible voucher or a status upgrade (Platinum) to compensate for their massive failures.​Pros: None that can outweigh the stress.Cons: Terrible communication, dismissive management (Solene), and zero respect for loyal guests.​If you are planning a honeymoon, engagement, or anniversary—STAY AWAY. They will take your money and ignore you the moment something goes wrong. Currently proceeding with a formal credit card dispute.​Avoid at all costs.

  Fantastic stay

  We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Check-in was fast, and the entire team—from the front desk to the housekeepers—was very friendly and helpful. The lobby is cozy and there is machine for free hot water and coffee. Our room was a great size. We could easily open two large suitcases, and we loved having a small balcony overlooking the main road.The location is perfect for sightseeing. It’s easily accessible from Gare de Lyon via bus 61, and bus 69 takes us to major sights like the Notre Dame, Louvre and Eiffel Tower. With a Metro station nearby and a Monoprix and McDonald’s right at your doorstep, it couldn’t be more convenient. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Paris!   Warm, helpful staff. Good location close-but-not-tooclose to metro. Clean, comfy. Complimentary coffee of good quality in the sitting room off the lobby. Safe area. Breakfast is €20pp and we could not bring ourselves to try that with so many boulangeries/patisseriess/cafes nearby offering coffee-and-a-something for €3-€7. I use a wheelchair alot so the rest of this review will focus on our accessible room, street-side (not noisy) on the second floor.The main door has one regular-sized step; the ramp is one-door-down behind the small reception desk. They wer always cherful about opening it. Every now and then no one was around and we easily opened it ourselves. Sitting room accesible. Good accessible bathroom on -1.Carpets a little thick in the hallways. Lighting a little dim.Room easy to roll around. Spacious. Accessible bathroom (also spacious) good, including low sink with legroom. Roll in shower so slightly slanted to keep water in shower area as it should be--easy enough concept but so many places get this wrong. Freestanding, movable, sturdy shower bench. No emergency pullcords might worry a solo traveler (was there with my wife).   Smallest rooms ever. Lift noise

  One of the great mysteries of life is how this is four star. It’s nowhere near. The room is like a prison cell and mine is located right next to the lift that kept me awake all night. There’s no bar and overall, it’s not much more than a 2 star. Friendly staff though.   Lovely hôtel freshly renovated, I was very pleased with my stay there. Clean room, good shower and an amazing breakfast just 30 seconds from the metro. I’ll definitely stay there again!
