Good for a night but not a longer stay

    rating26 Aug 2024

Pro: The hostel is in a great location, right next to public transport, shops, and restaurants. Very easy to get to from the Hauptbahnhof with the M10. Met many great people and most staff members were nice and helpful. Rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were cleaned daily.Could have been better: It was a poor start to my stay overall as I found out, after arriving, that the single bed that was advertised on booking.com did not exist. Staff informed me they only had bunk beds in dorms. Neither the hostel nor booking.com refunded the difference in price. The guy checking me in didn't seem to care, just said to take whatever bunk was available in my room. It looked like this was a known issue. The room itself was hot and stuffy. There is no ventilation, no fans, no air conditioning. We had to leave the windows open day and night to get some air in, which then increased the noise coming in from the street. Get yourself some good earplugs. The showers are dated and dirty. While the cleaners did a great job, they obviously can't clean the showers each time somebody uses them. Prepare to step on other people's hair and rubbish as you step into the shower. Also, the shower heads are mounted to the wall, so you can't use them to rinse off what the last person left behind. Showers run on a mechanical timer: You press the button and get to enjoy 1-2 seconds of water, then you have to press the button again. There is limited room for your clothes and towels. There is a kitchen, but it is small relative to the size of the hostel and only open between 7am and 10pm, No tea/coffee making facilities outside the kitchen, but you can buy some at reception when the kitchen is closed. The property also has one washing machine and one dryer - not enough for such a big place. A load of laundry costs 5 EUR (wash and dry); the dryer is temperamental and does not always work as it should, as I found out by the meltdown somebody had when their clothes came out wet. Don't do the laundry on the day of your departure - it may take longer than anticipated. The pillows are still an issue. They were either very old or stuffed with crunched up fabric offcuts. Whatever it was, it looked strange. I woke up with puffy eyes and a runny nose each day. The mattress was worn out and springy.

    Fine for a night!

    rating31 Jul 2024

I just crashed there after a concert and for that, it did the job even though I barely slept because the room was hot and sticky and there is no AC. You need to bring a lock for the lockers, which are a bit small. The top bunk bed is very low so you can't sit in the lower one and if your adapter is too big, you can't plug in your phone because the upper bed is so low. The room was big and spacious with a sink and a table. The bathroom was fine and clean. They do charge you for linens which is a joke and then you also have to make your own bed and return the sheets. The location is absolutely outstanding. Good for a night, for longer, I would go somewhere else.

    Worst experience

    rating08 Jun 2024

My worst experience in a hostel.Had booked 8 bed room ,got bit from bed bugs several times and opened light saw they were coming from everywhere. They moved me for more "security" in a room with only one person. In the morning he had destroyed my closed luggage with his tools stole my wallet with 235€,Id card, Driving License,Bank cards, small locker where I had my 2 my phones......the receptionist totally rude told me is my fault,I managed to call the police and my family because I was left with no cent and documents. The person had registered with fake, number,Id and went away without even checking out, etc.totally horrible experience, looked the person did that several times and they looked to be on his side with caring about his identity........

    Bedbugs

    rating09 Mar 2024

BEDBUGS. I have bites all over and I have to deeply clean my bags and everything in them. I’m not the only one in the group that got bitten either. At first I didn’t realise it was bedbugs. I just thought my skin was sensitive to something but no, that is bedbug bites. Do not go here.
