  A great riverside hotel for exploring Dresden

  This hotel was a great base for us to explore Dresden and nearby towns such as Meissen and Gorlitz. The room was very clean and spacious (with a lovely view over the river and opening windows!), and the daily breakfast buffets were great. All the staff were very friendly & helpful too. It's an easy walk across the bridge to the beautiful Old Town centre, and there is plenty of interesting places to fill a few days in Dresden alone. It was also close to the main train station, and trams, so we could visit other places with ease.   Strange stance!

  I was staying as part of a group of solo travelers. The hotel rooms are excellent but the reason I have given a lower score than I would normally do was for one reason namely the fact that for a final drink which was included in our package it had to be alcoholic drink,indeed it had to be a strawberry prosecco and in spite of asking the bar manager for something non-alcoholic it was refused. I was even prepared to drink water but it is inexcusable to insist on an alcoholic drink. I will be feeding back to the very well respected British tour company who bring a lot of business to the hotel that this issue needs addressing as some people are not able to drink alcohol or dislike fizzy drinks and it is cheaper to provide something that is non-alcoholic so I find this rather a strange stance.   Service is minimal for the price

  The location of the hotel to the center of the town was ideal as it was short walk. The Staff was friendly and very helpful. Check-in and check out were quick and easy. The reason I gave 3 stars is because they only clean the rooms once every 3 days and parking is very expensive. I have stayed in countless hotels on vacation and on business all over Europe and the U.S. and not a single one, Hilton, Scandic, Van Der Valk, Sheraton, Hyatt, didn't clean the rooms every 3 days, they cleaned them every day. Even small boutique hotels clean the rooms every day. I'm not asking for the sheets to be replaced or the towels, but empty the waste baskets and clean the bathroom (and replace the wet floor mat). I have paid far less in other hotels and the rooms were cleaned every day. For the price you pay, I expect at the minimum, a quick clean of the room, it doesn't have to be full room service. With regards to parking, I double checked to see if there was parking, there was, no mention that 3 nights would cost me over 70 Euros and I was in the hotel's underground garage.   No room service, bar or WiFi

  Good size and well equipped rooms. However, hotel bar is closed for refurbishment, there is no room service available for food, and don’t bother trying to connect to their WiFi as it is non-existent throughout the hotel.   Great location on the Elbe River and view on Dresden Old City

  I had stayed here 35 years ago, just after the opening of the inner-german border. The Bellevue is now an old hotel in need of a refurbishment. However, the price value is ok, and the big plus is the location right on the Elbe River (ideal for jogging or dog walking) and the view on Dresden Old City (for some room categories).
