    Professional and comfortable hotel in Meissen, Germany

    Huge room in annex. Clean and rather Spartan. Comfortable large bed. Free WiFi. Pleasant and helpful reception in modern annex. Calm neighborhood. Good restaurant on site.     We stayed in the room with view towards the castle/church which was obstructed by a large old tree on their yard. Why do they sell it as castle view then?!The room itself was quite spacious, could fit 2 extra beds for families with kids. Large windows, lots of sun, which helped a lot to make the room feels less dated. Bathroom is very small though. Very good breakfast, lots of variety and friendly restaurant staffs.What disappoint us the most was the receptionist staffs. They were very unfriendly, no welcome greeting or smile, spoke with an authoritative tone (like we are not the customer!), not speaking good English, and the answer for every question seemed to be 'nein'.     I stayed recently at the Dorint with my husband. We went over the weekend to visit family that live nearby.At a first glance the hotel looked very modern, until we got in the room. The room was very spartan. Old furniture and equipment. The night lamps did not work properly, the pillows left a lot to be desired, completely empty and uncomfortable without saying that was 1 pillow per person. My arms served better purpose...The complete look and in-room facilities were VERY minimalistic for the price and attributed stars the hotel has. The cherry on top of the icing was that we did not have hot water nor we were informed there was an issue in the whole complex. No information, consequently no solution was given.In addition, housekeeping got inside the room without knocking while we were inside...Sauna was out of service..Overall the facilities were clean.In our general experience, the hotel is overpriced for the offering.     Awesome hotel beautiful rooms within walking distance to town lovely views. Only complaint was the bartender was quite rude but when reported it was addressed Would definitely stay again.     I stayed here on September 2019 for one night.The Hotel is at a very beautiful spot with view on the Elbe River and the Albrechtsburg.The room itself was clean and good. We didn't have a Minibar or Air-conditioning, we also didn't need one. So make sure to ask for that beforehand if that's important to you.The WiFi was fast.My favorite part about the Hotel was the Breakfast. It was really good and it is in that castle-like house with view to the Elbe/Albrechtsburg. A lot of different food, bread, buns, eggs, sausages, meatballs, cheese variations, smoked fish, cereal, fruits, yogurts, juices and sparkling wine.I heard that the Wellness area in the Hotel is also very famous, but we didn't check it out.I'd stay there again and my be I will next year.
