Mixed Experience: Great Breakfast, Room Below Expectations

    rating27 Apr 2026

The price of the hotel did not fully reflect the overall quality of the stay. The room was spacious as promised; however, it did not quite meet the expectations associated with a deluxe category. The room appeared somewhat dated, with visible wear on the surfaces and a décor that felt reminiscent of the 1990s.The bed linen felt rather basic, and the kitchen was only minimally equipped, with fewer utensils than expected. Sound insulation was limited, as street noise was clearly audible in the room.We stayed at the hotel for three nights, and during this time the room was not serviced. While I understand that daily cleaning may not always be standard, I would have appreciated at least the trash being emptied once. Overall, I expected a higher standard from a four-star hotel. On a positive note, the breakfast was excellent and deserves a full 10 out of 10. The service was also friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated.

A calm business-friendly stay near Altstadt and the tram

    rating02 Feb 2026

Stayed a couple of nights here on a business trip, working nearby, and it turned out to be a very practical and pleasantly calm option.Location-wise it’s genuinely handy: easy access to supermarkets, not far from the Altstadt, and about two minutes’ walk to the next tram stop. From there you can get to the main station (and beyond) or head towards the Media Harbour area very easily. My room was very quiet — exactly what I like — and while it wasn’t huge, it felt cosy rather than cramped. There’s a fridge as well, which is ideal for keeping a few drinks and snacks on hand. The welcome at reception was warm, and the breakfast team were just as friendly. Breakfast itself was solid: a good buffet in a nicely lit breakfast room, and comfortable enough that I lingered a little longer than planned to catch up on emails. What it doesn’t have (at least at the moment) is an on-site restaurant, though there are several places close by so it’s hardly a hardship. The bigger let-down for me was the lack of a hotel bar — I’m not sure if that’s a permanent thing or just current, but it did feel like a missed opportunity. If you’re travelling with colleagues or seminar groups, you’ll likely head elsewhere for an evening drink.Overall, a very nice stay: quiet, comfortable, and it certainly seems to be well run. Ideal for a short work trip or a quick city visit. It’s not really a “holiday hotel”, but for a couple of nights in Düsseldorf, it does the job very well — and I’d happily stay again.

Wow! Impressed with great value and very comfortable.

    rating14 Oct 2024

I got this room last minute for a very good price and as a last minute promotion, they gave the mini-bar for free (2 beers and 2 waters). Very impressed with how clean and modern the room is. Although it won't be used, it also comes with its own kitchenette and utensils. I lucked into a north-facing room with a great view of the church and a room without the tub which means I got a modern glass and tile shower. Would recommend this hotel. Close to hospitals but not wheelchair friendly

    rating27 Aug 2024

Close to clinic bel etage and hospitals which is why we booked here however the entrance is not wheelchair friendly and the staff did not help on arrival with all our luggage and daughter in a wheelchair . The room we were given (s one bedroom apartment) smelt really badly of curry that someone had obviously cooked prior to us , and we just couldn’t get rid of the smell the whole time we stayed there . It’s important to note that for longer stays the rooms are only serviced weekly. For a family the glass bathroom door was a bit off putting also . We unfortunately did not find this hotel overly comfortable . Ricarda Monaco, Guest Services / Front Office at Living Hotel Dusseldorf, responded to this review Dear Nikki S, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay at our hotel. We understand the importance of wheelchair accessibility and guest assistance, and we regret that we fell short in meeting your expectations. Regarding the room issue you encountered, we will address this matter with our housekeeping team to ensure our guests have a pleasant stay. We appreciate your feedback on the glass bathroom door, and we will take this into consideration for future improvements. Your comments are valuable to us, and we will strive to make necessary enhancements. Warm regards, Team Living Hotel Düsseldorf

    My experience

    rating02 Jan 2024

I had bad experience, i booked the room with some description on website ,wich my room on the end did not have. When i tried to solve misunderstanding,i got unhelpful reception service ,saying that all rooms with that description are already taken, without even small try to solve the problem because how can be taken something that i already booked? However total disappointment.
