    Friendly and traditional.

A really nice hotel for a few days away or for a work trip. The staff are lovely and friendly. Rooms are a little dark and small but the bathroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I missed having tea and coffee in the room. Cleanliness needs looking at, a few cobwebs and lots of dust. The surroundings are lovely with countryside and tress. Parking is easy and on site. I left 1 star off due to the lack of tea and coffee and a few maintenance issues. There was a sauna onsite but I couldn’t find it.

    Will not return

Male receptionist and bar man rude.Refused to serve our party with a drink in the evening after we had stayed for 3 nights, saying that bar was closed as he served other American guests. No real explanation other than the bar was closed to us. When I said that I would give a poor review didn’t care. No tea or coffee facilities in room so left with no option and a bad taste in mouth. Won’t be coming back again. Room okay but not worth a four star rating. The hospitality in Germany has been great but not here.

    Poor customer service

    rating24 Mar 2025

Accommodation is reasonable but our trip was spoiled by a very rude and unhelpful staff member. Politely seeking after dinner drinks, we entered the bar, which was full, but were refused service on the grounds the bar was closed, it clearly wasn't. The male staff member was unnecessarily rude and aggressive, giving no apology for not serving us, whilst continuing to serve othe guests.

    Don’t bother

    rating08 Jul 2024

It took a while to find this place, as it’s on the edge of a housing estate. We were greeted by pot holes at the top of the driveway (we were on a motorcycle) and a general air of neglect. The front of the building needed some maintenance and the gardens needed attention too. I had emailed to book a table for a meal on our arrival and was told that the restaurant was not open on Sundays and Mondays, but they did not mention that the bar would also be closed. So after a very long hot journey we could not even source a cup of tea. The male receptionist (who was not especially friendly) told us to “go into town” but failed to mention a supermarket less than half a mile away. Good old Google! Our room was very hot when we went in (no air con) and we were not able to leave a window open as it was on the ground floor, however a fan was provided which did help to cool us down overnight. There were quite a few plug sockets although some of them did not work. There is a small fridge and a bottle of fizzy water had been left but it was not in the fridge, so it was warm. The bathroom was like a sauna after we had both showered with no ventilation. It was also in need of a good clean as there were a family of spiders living under the radiator, the sink plug was very grubby and the toilet brush also dirty. The towels were also very small. The bed however was very comfortable but the pillows very lumpy.Breakfast was adequate, but the coffee tasted as though it was instant. There was no one on reception when we checked out, but we didn’t wait as we wanted to get out as quickly as possible.

    Nice hotel, very good breakfast

    rating06 Dec 2023

We stayed one night in this hotel as part of "Social Deal". It's a nice hotel just outside Wesel. Our room was good but a bit outdated and quite warm at night. But the beds were good, the room was quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice.
