    Very very unexpectedly low cost service. Unfriendly and none proffi staff,seems every one here is trying to shout, none of them wants to do his/her job in proper manner. Always a dully smell from the reception, like they are having their lunch dinner at the reception. . All around hotel a nightmare, drunk people, dirty streets. Better areas try to find to stay and enjoy the town.

    I stayed two nights in December 2024 in this hotel. But I write is my personal impression from this hotel, and I would like to start with the positive things:Location: the hotel is very central, walking distance from Central Station of the town Essen.You walk out and you are practically in the centre of the town.Staff: staff at reception are very polite and friendly .Storage room: you can have a check out and leave your luggage in their luggage storage room.The room: I was extremely disappointed as the room was smaller than the time that I was student and my student dormitory room. I had the impression this was a storage room, converted into a small one bedroom. Furniture very old style the bathroom was definitely in need of modernisation. The room was clean, bedsheet was clean too, with the functioning small fridge in the room.For example, the television was due to the small size of the room placed on a wall where you had to sit at the end of the bed in order to be able to watch it.I did not have breakfast there so I cannot judge the breakfast.Lift: I, was Given a room on the fifth floor. Their main lift was broken, so the only available lift took me only to the fourth floor. I had to walk and take my luggage by hand to the fifth floor.It appears that renovation work was going on as equipment was stored on the stairway.

    The hotel was in a great location over the road from the main railway station, colleagues on arrival and on departure were fantastic and helpful, room was good and spacious and well appointed, I was going to the concert nearby and was wished a good time, I would definitely stay here again

    This was quite a surprisingly good stay, which I did not expect. The location is very central - regarding infrastructure this is a benefit due to the proximity to the central train station and the closeliness to the main shopping street. At the same time, this can be seen as a downside if one takes the night clientele of the downtown area into consideration. However, I cannot blame the hotel for this.The interior or at least my room was a bit old-fashioned. Nonetheless, the room was well-equipped and I notice renovation works on other floors.What most suprised me was the superb breakfast buffet. Here is the reason why: the chef was greeting loudly and friendly, the scrambled eggs were made from real eggs instead of powder, the quality of food was really good.No - this is not a modern hotel. Nonetheless, at this price, it will be difficult to get a clean room and such a great breakfast anyway around. For a business trip (one night or two), I can really recommend.
