    I stayed at a “five-star” hotel, but it felt more like a horror show. Hair in every corner, a bathroom reeking of urine, and cleanliness clearly forgotten. Five stars? More like five major disappointments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Great location and friendly staff but dated rooms and facilities.

    Stayed in Bad Pyrmont and chose the Steigenberger. The location is great and the staff is very friendly. However the rooms are dated, old and tired. Accept the renovations (which I was advised of at the time of booking) but constantly having tradespeople in the guest lift was surprising. The room lacked atmosphere and attention to detail for a five star hotel. The bathroom felt quite basic compared to other five star hotels. The gym didn’t have a treadmill which was a bit disappointing. A few changes could make it more appealing to a broader target group. Overall a great location and friendly staff but rooms and facilities are disappointing which hopefully will change after the renovation.     Nice old hotel however not maintained in many aspects

    Nice old hotel however not maintained - location is great and definitely no 1 in Bad Pyrmont - next to the Kurpark with the great Palmengarten. Staff was friendly and helpful - unfortunaley no available wifi in the rooms (for several days !!!), broken hot pools, broken elevator to spa area and rather poor maintenance in the rooms - Steigenberger has to urgently invest money to get it (back) to the minimum expectation level of its customers - we will for sure come back to Bad Pyrmont but will only select Steigenberger once standards are properly in place … Franziska Pritzkow, Other at Steigenberger Hotel & Spa Bad Pyrmont, responded to this review Dear valued Guest, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.We are sincerely sorry that your stay at our hotel did not meet your expectations.     Good experience despite renovation

    Yes, renovation was going on and rooms are dated without airco. But the beds were very good, the location excellent: between a gorgeous Kurpark with majestic trees and a beautiful shady city promenade. Also a great breakfast and very extensive wellness area. Still, cost-value balance is not very good if you stay at full price.     Where a deal is not a deal

    While I understand the need for hotels to be competitive with their pricing, I also believe in honouring agreements. In this case, Steigenberger Hotel & Spa Bad Pyrmont failed to abide by the terms of the offer presented to me. Specifically, the offer I accepted stated a price with a clear 'Includes taxes and charges'. However, after I reserved a room, they included fine print with additional costs. I was charged a Kurtax fee at check-out, which was not mentioned in the initial offer nor during check-in. I complained three times. The front office staff was extremely unhelpful, even rude. The hotel did not rectify the overcharge nor acknowledge the lack of transparency in their pricing.This experience made me understand why this hotel has been called disappointing. It is not just about the worn towels, outdated rooms, and busy breakfast and swimming pool. It is mainly about the front office staff's attitude.
