    Great location and nice room

    rating15 Apr 2026

We stayed for 4 nights. The location is very central to be able to walk to all the sites in Munich, yet is in a quieter location. We were in room 401 which was a larger room, with a separate dressing area, and a lounge chair in addition to the bed. It has an elevator to the floors so easier for luggage. We could open the windows for fresh air and to hear all the bells. The bathroom was large enough with a shower that you need to step up into. The room had a small combination safe that was not working however the staff did provide us with the key to lock it. Two requests - please provide tissues and face cloths.

Budget Hotel in a Great Location

    rating10 Dec 2025

Wonderful location near Marienplatz and getting around Munich. The rooms were very spacious, simple but clean. Would recommend for a budget hotel in a great area.

Location is great but lacks comfort and facilities

    rating22 Nov 2025

The hotel is basic and I wish I had read more reviews before booking. Very few facilities in the room - no tea/coffee making and very limited storage. We tripped over suitcases all the time. Flooring is utilitarian and walls just painted with marked areas . Tiny bathroom. It was clean and there was hot water. If location is important then this hotel is central and part of the old town feel, but we would not return.

    Stay elsewhere

    rating11 Aug 2025

4 of us just stayed 2 nights at this hotel in Marienplatz area of Munich. For the expensive price, it had no air conditioning or tea or coffee facilities in the room. After travelling all over Europe for 4 weeks, this was the worst shower ever. Wasted so much water trying to adjust to hot.Unfriendly reception staff and minuscule lift. Not recommended, look elsewhere.

    Bare Bones Hotel in Viktualienmarkt

    rating28 May 2025

This hotel is nice but rather bare bones. Frankly, I was expecting more for the price. The staff are friendly enough. There is no air conditioning, just an electric fan, so it is necessary to open the windows. If the windows are open you hear everything going on downstairs in the street, and the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and a market, so it is quite noisy at times, especially Saturday night. There is no furniture with drawers, only shelves. There is a safe in the room. They supply complimentary bottled water but no coffee or tea maker. There is a television, but no phone. The shower was nice, but has no dispenser for body gel. Instead you have to fiddle with tiny little 20 ml. bottles. The elevator is very small. When you arrive with any amount of luggage, only one person can fit, two without luggage. This means you have to wait if anyone else is in it. Breakfast is €15 from a fixed menu. You have to reserve a table the day before as well as order your food the day before. It is not a buffet. It was not bad but not impressive. What you are paying for at this hotel is the location, which is prime. The hotel is in the Viktualienmarkt, very close to Marienplatz where the Rathaus is as well as a subway station. There is a tram stop which is not too far at Reichenbachplatz. It is also quite close to Tal Straße where there is a taxi stand and tram and bus stops. From these points you can easily reach most of the popular tourist spots as well as the main train station. Several tourist spots are within easy walking distance. The airport or train station transfer offered is overpriced. I paid about €20 for a taxi in fairly heavy traffic while their quote was €77. All in all it was not a bad experience, but it is certainly not a cushy boutique hotel by any means.
