Good hotel for a base to visit Stuttgart

    rating06 Jan 2026

We stayed here for 4 days over the New Year period. The hotel is run efficiently by friendly + helpful staff. The whole hotel is very clean. However the rooms are very small + basic. Our beds were very comfortable. There is a tv, but no tea / coffee making items, kettle, etc. The shower / toilet area is of a good size, and very clean. The breakfast selection was always fresh, but rather limited, although we found it to be quite nice, fresh cheeses, breads, cereals, fruit, etc. There is no hot food. The hotel has ample parking spaces. There is no interior bar. If you require a beverage of any kind there is a grocery / petrol garage next door that has a wide choice you can bring to the hotel. To get into Stuttgart main town, you catch either the U4 or U19 tram from the stop that is about a 100 yards from the hotel. This hotel is pretty basic, but a good base to explore Stuttgart from.

    Perfect for "LKA-Longhorn" visits. 👍

    rating22 Dec 2025

We moved into accommodation in the B&B Hotel Stuttgart-Neckarhafen (Stuttgart-Wangen district) from 20./21.12.2025 to celebrate in the discotheque "LKA Longhorn".The distance is only 600 meters and can be reached quickly and easily on foot. The check-in was flawless and the young woman at the reception very friendly.Instead of room cards, you get a 6-digit PIN, with which you can open both the room and the front door after 22:00.The rooms are functional for one night (with us 101 euros per night). But there is no safe and no fridge here !The joints in the bathroom are clean and not grimy, the room can be darkened mostly well.Parking is free, but unfortunately only available to a very limited extent.Parking in the area is rather clumsy.Opposite the hotel is a RAN petrol station, which is open 24/7 and has a small bakery as well as a beverage market with (really) normal prices. There are numerous restaurants for every taste in the vicinity of the hotel (as well as right next door).Check-out was at 12:00 which was also very pleasant. All in all highly recommended. Good value hotel

    rating28 Oct 2024

Staying with a group of friends at this hotel for the beer festival, the hotel is within walking distance a bus stops and tram stations which connect to the line to the airport. The hotel is also next to a 24/7 petrol station which serves a wide variety of hot and cold food and drinks. The hotel itself has a simple to use keycode system, a modern lobby area and also a small restaurant on site. The rooms are fairly basic but clean, certainly good enough to get your head down for a couple of nights in between heavy nights out. Reasonable value for the standard of hotel.

    An excellent find!

We went to see our old friends in Stuttgart-Wangen for the first time in two years (pandemics and politicians being what they are), and we elected to stay in the new Hotel BnB there. In the old days, this was the site of the Stuttgart-Wangen Autohof, a truck stop/fuel/hotel site, but it's been re-developed. Half of the site has become the BnB, a brand new bed&breakfast hotel. It's important to retain that idea, because they don't do anything else. The place is well-built, provides a most serviceable breakfast, highly adequate bedding and accommodation, but that's all it does. It provides wifi and cell coverage, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and controllable air-conditioning in a small space, but no room service or other meals. The reception will rustle up a pizza or similar if asked, and you can get a beer or soft drink from the vending machine. That's what they do.It's a comfortable place; bear in mind that the night-time temperatures were in the mid-20s C, daytime up to 36C, that air-con unit was worth it's weight in gold.In reality, if you want more catering to take back to your room, investigate the RAN petrol station next door. Their drink selection dwarfs my local supermarket, they have a bread baking setup for all sorts of breads, and you can live well for not much money. The thing that made this a complete, if simple, experience was the attitude of the staff there. Each one was enthusiastic and helpful, even when I came up with a wifi/macBook issue. The lead assistant tried and failed, the desk manager tried and escalated to his ISP, who failed. FWIW, I could take the thing (a M1 MB Air) down the road to my friend's wifi and all worked. The desk manager came in on a Saturday morning with his 4-yr old to try to sort things out, and I took mercy on him after an hour of much conversation with the ISP to state that I was on holiday and really didn't need laptop wifi in the hotel that badly (iOS and Android both worked perfectly). She shows much promise in UK political terms, as she learns her English from Peppa Pig, as does our Prime Minister Johnson. They were all helpful, all friendly, even after the wifi experience, and we'll definitely be back there.
