Check if the Heating or AC works and do not pay in advance.

    rating12 May 2026

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.Unfortunately, I only read the previous reviews after my stay, and many of them matched our experience exactly. This happened last October, and I sincerely hope things have improved since then. However, because this issue dragged on for almost a year, I feel it is important to share the full story. I rarely write reviews like this, but in this case I believe it is justified. The main reason I chose this hotel was its proximity to the Mercedes Museum, and because it is part of the Hilton brand, I expected a certain standard of quality and service.I booked and prepaid a room for three people Junior Suite with Sauna, King Bed and Sofa Bed for one night through Booking.com. When we first entered the room in the early afternoon, it felt unusually cold. At the time, I assumed the air conditioning had been set too low while preparing the room, so we turned it off and left to visit the Mercedes Museum. When we returned a few hours later, the room was still freezing. We turned on the heating and went to dinner at the hotel which i signed for on the Room. After dinner, we came back to find the room even colder, making it clear that the heating system was not working at all. As the evening temperature dropped and the room had large windows, it became very uncomfortable. My friends were understandably unhappy, so I went to reception. I was told that the technicians had already left for the day and that the only solution was to provide a portable heater. In hindsight, this suggested that the issue was already known. The next morning, we had breakfast and checked out.Several months later, I began receiving calls requesting payment for the Dinner. I had no issue paying, but I also raised the problem we had experienced with the room which i had told the reception and i also left my feedback on Booking.comWhat followed was a series of explanations and excuses. From what I later discovered in other reviews, several guests had experienced the same heating or cooling problem. It appears that instead of removing affected rooms from sale until the issue was resolved, the hotel continued selling them and offered partial refunds only to guests who left a reviewIn my case, I was told that because I had booked through Booking.com, a refund was not possible. The only compensation offered was a €20 discount on the restaurant bill, as I was told the restaurant operated as a separate department.Having worked in a premium five-star hotel myself, I understand operational challenges. However, guests paying over €400 for a single night should at the very least expect a properly heated room. Basic comfort is not an optional extra when paying good money.I was also informed that the hotel was operating as a tenant and could not make structural changes quickly since they had recently taken it over (recently it seems it was going on since months before our stay........ That may be true, but such limitations should be clearly disclosed before booking, with pricing adjusted accordingly if essential services are affected. This was not simply a case of unmet expectations; it was a failure to provide one of the most basic requirements of any hotel stay.I understand that operational difficulties can arise, but from a guest’s perspective, the reasons are irrelevant when full price has been charged and fundamental standards are not met.My advice: if you still choose to stay here, do not pay in advance.

    Avoid!!!

    rating02 Apr 2026

Avoid at all costs! Such a disappointing hotel! Beds are sooooo uncomfortable. AC does not work. We kept being told there was only one person working and therefore our AC couldn’t be fixed. Opened the pullout couch and it had filthy sheets we had to replace. The hotel is dingy and not clean. Just terrible and disappointing.

Hilton? HOTEL?? More like a hostel, and a bad one at that!

    rating01 Apr 2026

Taking my son to watch the national team play football, I thought that staying next to the stadium in a decent 4-star hotel would be an ideal birthday gift for him. Even at 220€ per night, I thought I would go for it. Sadly, I have never been more disappointed in a hotel stay, ever. The hotel website, as well as the portal I used (Booking-com) both advertise fridges in room, which I need for medical reasons. Upon check in, no fridge. when enquiring at reception I was initially told this is no longer available due to "renovations". However, the very nice gentleman at reception (Haydar) was able to get one installed. On the second day we left to visit the city, and upon our return late afternoon it was clear that there had been no housekeeping service. The next morning I enquired as to why and was advised it is hotel policy to NOT service rooms unless specifically asked. Upon further investigation I located a small flyer (under the TV) explaining such. Firstly, in a 4* Hilton hotel I was shocked. It should certainly behove the hotel to ADVISE THE GUEST at check in that this is the new cost-saving norm! (some waffle about climate footprint was mentioned). There is no room service, and upon enquiring I was advised it was very busy. (SHOCK!! HORROR!! A full hotel? How will we cope!?!?) Furthermore, the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. Mould in the shower and a cracked sink. I have stayed at better equipped 1 star hotels! (See pics). If this is the new standard of the once glorious brand of Hilton, I will revert to camping or sleeping under a bridge. Hotel is appalling on every level, the corridors have dirty walls, the carpets are sticky with grime, and the lighting is in need of a few replaced bulbs. As the room faced an enormous tv screen (Outside the hotel by the stadium) we were constantly bothered by the light flickering until very late at night. There is a switch in the room for the outside blinds, but of course, these did not work. Finally, there is no chance of any form of temperature control in the room. It was constantly around 23°c, which is way too hot!! I asked more than twice to see a manager,(Preferably would have liked to have seen Georg Baelar, the alleged General Manager), but none was offered. However a nice young chap called Max took note of my issues. Upon check out, I was offered a refund approximating only 10% of the value of my accommodation costs. I requested a full refund for the last night but this was declined (Again, after an alleged discussion between the reception and this Georg chap). AVOID THIS HOTEL, as I will most certainly be avoiding all Hilton hotels from now on. Marriot and IHG hotels have much better service, better trained staff, take care of their guests and certainly Fulfill the guests expectations of what should be STANDARD in a 4-Star hotel.

    Highly recommend

We stayed here for 1 night and it was fantastic. Ahed Alghadban who checked us in was very kind and helpful, nothing was a trouble for him. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. This hotel offers a very good value for money and perfect for family.

    Broken rooms

    rating07 Jun 2025

The first room we got did not have a working AC which made the night pretty tough. The hotel moved us to a suite which was nice, but the electrical outlets by the bed did not work which meant that we could not have our phones charging by the bed at night. Then, the hotel moved us to another suite, but the AC did not work there either, so we ended up moving to the first suite with not working outlets by the bed. The good thing is that the hotel has a washer and drying machine for a fee, which we used. Detlef Winter, General Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Stuttgart NeckarPark, responded to this review Dear CXherrer , First of all thank you very much for having stayed with us. Sincere apologies if our service level was not up to your expectations but rest assured that we will review them in order to provide you with a better experience during your next visit. Kindest regards from Stuttgart on behalf of the entire team, Detlef Winter General Manager
