Location

This city hotel is located 15 km away from Stuttgart, on the main road between Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg, on the street Königsallee. From the hotel, visitors are able to reach the baroque castle and Ludwigsburg Palace, only 1.2 km away. The city centre, main train station, shops and Christmas market (seasonal) are each around 10 minutes away on foot. A bus stop is located just a few steps from the hotel, and a park can be found around an 8-minute walk away. The journey to Stuttgart from the hotel takes about 25 minutes by public transport. The ‘Forum am Schlosspark’ culture and congress hall is just a couple of minutes’ walk away. Stuttgart Echterdingen Airport is approximately 40 km away from the hotel.

The hotel was built in 1871. Guests have a choice of 179 non-smoking rooms located in two 4-storey buildings with lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     We were part of a large group of around 150 people, all in town for a Masters sporting event. The hotel was very good, the staff excellent, and the breakfast buffets, given the need for athletes to eat well ahead of competing, were brilliant, always full with several appropriately healthy options. Our room was large, with plently of suitable storage space. Bed comfy; bathroom a good size too, and the shower was good, although prone to temperature fluctuations in the mornings.We ate dinner here twice over our 11-day stay, and it was good, if on the expensive side.Since our large group had a special rate, which was very good value, I'm not sure of the usual cost.

    When in Ludwigsburg, we always stay at the Nestor Hotel. It's close to restaurants and all the major attractions, and it's the perfect location if we're in Ludwigsburg for the Weinlaube or the Baroque Christmas Market. But, the best thing about the Nestor is that they welcome dogs, so we can travel with our Labrador Retriever Nora.
