  Only one elevator and it may be out of order

  We booked this hotel because it is conveniently located next to the train station. When we got to the hotel and after we checked in, we were told that the one and only elevator in the building was not operating. They gave us a room on the fifth floor, which meant that we would have to transport luggage up five flights of stairs. My wife recently had foot surgery, which limits her mobility and the hotel could not accommodate our request for a room on a lower floor. Although the staff said the elevator had just gone out of service that day, they could not assure us that it would be working the next day, so we opted to stay only one night and move to a more modern hotel across the street, which, incidentally, had four elevators - all working. The signs posted on the elevator doors of the Plaza Inn seemed to have been there awhile, so I question how long the elevator had really been out of service.On the bright side, the room was adequate, albeit small. We opted not to have breakfast at the hotel, so we can't rate that.Overall, I would not recommend this hotel due to it having only one elevator that may or may not be working. There are more modern hotels in the area that are not that more expensive and have reliable elevators.

  Very small rooms with no A/C. The hotel is too expensive for what you get. The on site breakfast was ok, but lots of bugs flying around. The elevator was tiny. It’s location across the street from the train station was helpful.

  Nice small hotel situated very close to the main station but only a short walk to the city centre. Good connections into the city transport system. We stayed in a recently refurbished room that was clean, modern and very good value. Very friendly and helpful reception staff.

  Staff friendly and welcoming however, very old and worn interior. Don't expect to get any sleep. No ventilation or AC in rooms but unable to leave window open due to being located on what seemed to be the busiest junction in Stuttgart.

  Great location, very friendly staff. One of the entrances from the Stuttgart Hauptbahn Hof lead directly to the hotel. Later I found this wasn't the shortest passage, but great when travelling alone and arriving late at night.Room was clean and ok, but quite dated, but guess you get what you pay for. Very much appreciated the triple window glasses, so - even having a room facing the main street - very good sleep quality. There were two doors with an entrance between the bedroom and the hall, so very quiet. I'm not much of a breakfast eater, just coffee in the morning, so didn't have that. There's no kettle, but brought my own. They offered housekeeping, but since corona arrived, I feel safer without - both for me and for them. sked for an extra small towel which I got. No problems.Happy to stay here again.
