Another relaxing stay at the MarBella

    rating29 May 2026

I first stayed at the MarBella in 1977 when I was 16 and have visited the hotel many times since then, both with friends and as a solo traveller, and every stay has been thoroughly enjoyable. Returning to the MarBella feels like coming home — some of the staff have become friends, and I’m always able to relax, unwind and feel completely safe. The hotel layout has changed and upgraded over the years but remains my 'go to' place when I come to Corfu. The hotel sits on the hillside above Agios Ioannis Peristeron, about halfway between Benitses and Moraitika/Messonghi. The traditional village of Stroggili is a 5 minute drive up the hill. It’s a peaceful spot with lovely views, the Nido and Avali hotels are within walking distance, and there’s a small shop plus several tavernas nearby. The hotel has a boutique and shop on site. There is also a jewellery shop. Green Bus stops are located on both sides of the main road, and some services even run up the hill directly to the hotel. Travel to Corfu town or south of the island is accessible by bus or you can hire a car from the hotel. The first thing you notice on entering the hotel reception is the aroma of its beautiful signature scent, the MarBella hotel is warm, welcoming and has a wonderfully calm, atmosphere. It is a family‑friendly hotel, so you will see and hear children around the resort, although several areas are reserved for adults only. If you prefer a fully adult environment, the nearby Nido or Avali hotels may suit you better. The staff are genuinely lovely — always friendly, helpful and kind — and they consistently go out of their way to make you and your holiday feel special. The hotel rooms are clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. They include everything you need for a relaxing stay, such as a mini‑bar, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, room safe and an iron. Room types range from standard rooms to suites, but all maintain the same high level of quality and comfort. The hotel operates on an all‑inclusive basis and offers very good value for money. The food in all the restaurants is excellent, with plenty of choice for both adults and children, and everything is prepared to a consistently high standard. Drinks are also included, with a wide selection available. You can also order food and drinks directly to your sunbed by the pool, at the Aquapark or down on the beach. There are lots of activities for children, teenagers and adults, along with a gym, beauty salon/spa and various water sports. Some activities do incur an extra charge. During the daytime the hotel is generally quiet and peaceful. However, it can feel a little busier during arrival and departure times. There is a small church near the main entrance where you can sit quietly and light a candle.Evenings tend to be livelier due to the entertainment, but there are plenty of quieter areas to retreat to if you prefer. Despite the main road running past the hotel, noise from traffic is minimal.I struggle to find anything negative to say about the MarBella. However, it’s worth noting that if you have mobility issues or find steps difficult, the hotel’s hillside layout may present challenges. There are lifts to all areas and ‘golf‑cart’ buggies available to take you up and down the hill, but getting around may still require some effort. In this case, one of the other hotels in the collection might be a better fit for your needs.

Each day was exciting as you can do water sports/ pool/ water park or just chill on the beach. We were never bored for 10 days! Marianna in the Terrazza restaurant always went above to get us an outside table.

Our vacation was simply fantastic from beginning to end. The resort exceeded our expectations with its excellent service, clean and comfortable rooms, and beautiful surroundings. Every member of the staff was kind and attentive, always making sure guests felt welcome. The highlight of our stay was definitely the animation team. They brought so much energy, fun, and happiness to the resort every single day. From games and activities during the day to the entertaining evening mini disco, they created an amazing atmosphere for both adults and children alike. They were always smiling, engaging, and full of enthusiasm, which made our holiday even more enjoyable.A special thank you goes to Vinci, the incredible leader of the animation team, whose passion and dedication truly stood out.Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We left with beautiful memories and hope to return again soon.

    Great for families

    rating27 May 2026

We stayed at the Marbella Collection in Corfu for 10 days in mid-May as a family of three, and honestly had such a lovely holiday. The weather was perfect, warm with beautiful blue skies, but not unbearably hot.The hotel itself is stunning. Everything feels newly refurbished, so the interiors look amazing, the rooms are modern and spotless, and the gardens are incredibly well maintained. Our room was very clean and well equipped for our family, with the cot already set up for us on arrival and the bath we requested ready too, which was appreciated after travelling with a toddler. The balcony was also surprisingly toddler-friendly, although that didn’t stop my son trying to throw his ball over it every five minutes! One thing to know is that the hotel is huge and built into a hillside. We arrived in the dark and our room was down near the beach, so when I tried to go and get a drink on the first night I got completely lost for ages. At first it genuinely feels like a maze! The hillside setting does give the hotel incredible views, but it is very steep in places. There are ramps throughout, but if you rely entirely on a stroller it might be something to consider. That said, the golf buggy service was fantastic and became part of the fun for our son. We used it several times to get up to the kids’ pool, and the drivers were always so friendly and happy to take us around. Our son absolutely loved the “car rides.”The kids’ pool area was great, and the lady serving drinks there was one of the hardest working and nicest people we met during our stay. I didn’t catch her name unfortunately, but she was brilliant. The food throughout the hotel was incredible, genuinely some of the best buffet food we’ve had at a family-friendly resort. The Italian restaurant was by far our favourite. The wait staff everywhere were attentive, friendly, and great with children. The pool snack shacks were also excellent. We only ate there a couple of times, but I would highly recommend the chicken katsu sandwich!Reception staff were always warm and welcoming, especially Christina, who was incredibly kind. My son adored her and would run over for high fives and to blow kisses every time he saw her.The staff member who stood out most to us though was Zoch. Not only did he drive us around the hotel for fun buggy rides, but he genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. He was fantastic with our son and made a real impression on us during the holiday.Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend Marbella Collection for families looking for a beautiful, friendly resort in Corfu.
