  Perfect October break

  My partner and I booked Amazone in October. We normally go away in September but it can still be too hot for us. We arrived late at night but Mika was waiting and brought us a Mythos and some nibbles which was well needed. The apartment was clean and spacious and we had an extra room as it was fairly quiet so plenty of room to store suitcases and hang clothes. Breakfast was the usual continental with lots of choice. The apartments are well situated but the road noise can be slightly noisy by the pool area. Didn’t bother us and there was no noise at all from the apartment and the bar area. Our hosts Dimitri and Natasha were super friendly and helpful. They couldn’t do enough and the lovely Mika ran the bar in the evening. Stalis was still busy in October. Most of the shops and eateries were open. The beach is sandy and the sea warm. Lots of beach activities. We didn’t use the road train but did a couple of excisions on the local bus which is super cheap. We have been to Crete before, to Kata Gouves, which was a bit too quiet and spread out. Stalis is one long strip along the seafront. Very easy to get around. Scenery is stunning with mountains behind. Malia and Hersonnisos are within easy reach on the bus. We visited the Minoan Palace at Malia and the folk museum just outside Stalis is worth a visit. All in all,a fabulous relaxing holiday. Oh and the honey raki is definitely worth a try.

  September 2025 - the most wonderful vacation!

  Yet again a fabulous stay at Amazones Villas Apartments, this being our 4th stay here in the previous 2 years. We were staying in Stalis due to our wedding being held during the stay, and Natasha and Dimitris, along with Mika, could not have done anything more to help it be the most perfect 16 night stay. This time we had a lot of family/friends staying both here and in other parts of Stalis, but they were all welcome to use the facilities if they wished without any issue. The 2 bedroom apartment, if i remember correctly room number 212, was amazing for the view, right at the end of the block so had the most perfect view looking across Stalis and towards Malia over the sea. Equipped with everything we required, air con, fully equipped kitchenette, large balcony and large bathroom area.The thing I love the most about here is the location, it's a good 10-15min stroll into Stalis centre, yet is also in a lovely quiet area of the resort down towards Romantic Corner, and if you choose to want a quieter evening, Pelagos, Maistrali and Romantic Corner are all on your door step for wonderful meals and plenty of free Raki to end your meal on a high! Natasha, Dimitris and Mika all can't do enough for you, from the great tasting breakfasts on a morning, the endless pool service for lunch and drinks throughout the day, and Mika working late into the night keeping the bar running, thank you all once again for a brilliant stay.Booked to return next September, and looks like Amazones Villas Apartments have some returnees to come back with us from the family too, which is just what we hoped for!

  Our favourite place in the world

  Arrived late to a lovely hug from Mikka, and a drink. We had a lovely holiday , the place is excellent value, comfortable, clean spacious in the rooms and has everything we want. Good bed, hot water, decent shower, pool, and space and quiet as much as we wanted. We love it here its our 4th time, and we've already booked for next year!All the staff are lovely, and Natasha and Dimitri are lovely hosts, coming to say hello every morning, and to ask about our day when we had been out and come back. My husband was ill and they asked to be kept informed and were very caring. Natasha was always ready to book things, and ring taxis, and they provide wonderful food too!

  The Apartments That The owners Forgot

  If your face fits you will fit in well and if also go back year after year you will definatly fit in well in this hotel. The owners don't like you to complian and if you do he gives you a right attitude.The rooms are very dirty and minging and dated.We paid for Bed and BreakfastBREAKFAST Continental haha Greek Yoghurt with honey. Cheese,Tomato,Hard Boiled Egg,Ham,Toast. NO Fruit or any thing else you would expect and if you wanted a cooked breakfast have to pay extra for it.BEDROOM were dusty and never been cleaned all the time we were there the mattress are full of marks.Bedding and towels changed every 3 days. 2 single beds which were bunk beds seperated.KITCHEN was greasy and full of dirt couldn't make anything to eat due to rusty cutlery and the cups had never been washed and the bench was all stained and small. The microwave still worked when you opened the door also the enamel missing from inside. The draw where the pans were which looked like they had seen better days all I can say it looked like mouse dropping inside.No washing up liquid provided so had to buy our own.BATHROOMThe toilet was dirty especially around the rim and the toilet seat. The seal around the toilet and shower all full of mould and dirty. The shower tray was full of yellow marks also the sink was full of yellow marks and dirty. The shower leaked all over the floor when used if and if you are tall you can move the shower head also the more water pressure the shower head moved itself.LIVING AREAThe room had a door which was a connecting door to next appartments bedroom which we were able to hear everything and mean everything. The settee cover was dirty and dusty and seen better days. There was a broken socket just left open. The curtain on patio doors was full of marks. The tv had 2 english channels bbc news and sky news. If you want a view well this is not the hotel you want as you look at the back of another hotel. POOL AREAwas relevantly clean but sunbeds were dirty yes people lie on them all season but nothing a rub down with soapy water from the owners will cure at least once a week. Crazy golf unusable.DON'T WANT OR EXPECT 5☆ LUXURY JUST WANTED TO BE CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE AND BE ABLE TO MAKE A SANDWICH WHEN WE WANTED ONE.

  A great place for a comfortable stay and convenience of location

  Thoroughly enjoyed our 11 night stay at Amazones Villas, great value for money and ideal for a family.Knowledgeable, friendly and attentive staff who made you feel welcome and looked after, never without a drink whether at the pool area or eating area, we only had breakfasts so can’t comment much on food but they were very tasty.Pool was well maintained and sunbeds plentyApartments were basic but generally well equipped, only negative was the lack of a mirror in the 2nd bedroom, no issues with cleaning staff although the timings and days seemed a bit random. I’d recommend asking to go on 2nd floor, we were woken up regularly by inconsiderate people above us at all hoursThe location is awesome, blew my mind to walk 20 seconds to an amazing view of the sea, beach and promenade. The resort itself had everything you could want and car hire easy to go and explore. Whilst the apartments just has a small pool for children it doesn’t really matter with so much within walking distance, they probably shouldn’t advertise they have mini golf as this looks like it was built in the 1970s :-)I found the fact that the hotel was cash only to be a little tedious, they generously let you run up a tab so a good idea to keep an eye on the amount to make sure you have enough cash out. In hindsight I should have settled up every few days as also then also easier to reconcile. A superb, quiet and well looked after apartments, would thoroughly recommend!
