Location

This hotel is set just above a beautiful cove with a smooth sandy beach descending gently to the water edge and a 2 km stretch of natural sand. It is located in a glorious and peaceful setting in a rural environment, south of the cosmopolitan Kallithea and 1.5 km from the traditional village of Kriopigi on the Kassandra peninsula, the most legendary in Halkidiki. Thessaloniki Airport is around 75 km away.

Facility

The hotel has a lifts and features 208 rooms. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café, a bar and a pub. A non-smoking restaurant with air conditioning, high chairs and a separate area for smokers is available to guests. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. The hotel offers a wide range of catering options. Half board and full board can be booked.     Alexander can be the Greatest

    My wife and I have just returned from a lovely week at Alexander the Great. The hotel is in a state of transition but this did not spoil our enjoyment in anyway. The beach area is almost complete and the stylish hammocks and sunbeds compliment the stunning beach and turquoise sea. Sadly the funicular railway is under maintenance but there are regular buggies to take you to and from the beach. The hotel's location is its strength. The view across the sea to Sithonia is stunning. The staff are amazing, invariably polite and helpful and special mention must be made of Anastasia, who makes the best coffee, and Olga, two ladies whose smiles brightened our stay. The hotel has a lot going for it and once fully renovated should be truly amazing.     The location, the people, and the near by towns were so great and the food outside the hotel (especially the Gyros) was so fantastic; overall I had an amazing experience. The hotel had a homely atmosphere with lots of greenery within the hotel site. The beach was perfect and located straight down the hill off the hotel. The only let down I experienced during my stay was the promised taste of amazing food; unfortunately the food was terrible. The salad was great, the breakfast was great however, the main course dishes were very bland and the meat was tough at times as the fork had to bounce off the chicken legs, and the pork was so tasteless. But the local cuisine in town was so tasty and I did manage to enjoy several courses at the A La Carte restaurant located in the hotel. The reception staff and hotel manager were incredibly welcoming and provided me with speedy assistance with my requests.     1. The food quality was significantly below what would be expected of a 4-star hotel, and it was frequently served cold or only lukewarm.2. The food selection was very repetitive, and it appeared that lower-quality ingredients were being used (for example, the absence of bacon at breakfast and the use of poor-quality sausages).3. It would have been appreciated to have more non-meat options available to accompany salads, such as tuna or prawns.4. There was often a lack of clean bowls, plates and glasses, which raises concerns about how the hotel would cope during peak season.5. There is limited seating / sunbeds around the pool area.6. While I understand the hotel is due to be upgraded, this is clearly overdue. The rooms, although clean, are quite dated.7. The air conditioning was not functioning properly, as it was blowing warm air.8. The flight costs appeared to be significantly overcharged. When attempting to check in independently on TUI the same flights were showing at approximately £80 per person return for the same dates. In relation to the availability of bowls, plates and glasses, replenishment procedures are continuously monitored throughout service periods, particularly during busier times of the day and season. With regard to the pool area, the number of sunbeds and seating is allocated in accordance with the hotel’s available space and operational regulations. As mentioned, refurbishment plans for the property are already scheduled as part of a wider upgrade program. Concerning the air conditioning, the system operates using centrally controlled settings which are adjusted in line with seasonal outdoor temperatures.     Was there 3 times in a row last year! Fist time in May.. it was perfect .. except the stairs .. No elevator to the beach.. I was pregnant there were many stairs. so for me was excosting.. The other things were great overall! THE SECOND TIME i was late of june.. Still no elevator.. the last time I was in septemer woth a newborn.. the staf was not polire as it was at the reception.. overall good but needs to be fixed the problem with the elevator because the guy with a small mini car who bgame to take guests at the beach sometimes was late at it was just one a lot of peiple.. I had to go on stairs with a steoller and a baby!     Needs a complete makeover

    Not a hotel geared up for all-inclusive especially at evening meal time, if you arrive 15 minutes after it has opened be prepared to queue up for at least 15 minutes to get your food. Food is very good but you only have a choice of about 5 meals unless you like spaghetti Bolognese which is there every night. Only one bar open at night so again be prepared to queue up as there is no waiter service. Evening entertainment is patchy, but one night there was a rock band that stayed on for over 2 hours and they were very good. The room was clean but very dated and the bathroom is very small and flooded every time we had a shower. The beach is very good and has the best sunbeds I have ever had the pleasure to lay on. I have to say the best thing about this hotel is the staff who work very hard and can't do enough for you.
