    MENDI HOTEL HALKADIKI.

    rating09 Aug 2025

Not very helpful when we arrived we were exhausted after a 5hr delay from Manchester airport. Our coach transfer dropped us in the middle of a town nothing but drunk clubers on their way home. We had to wait on our own for a taxi to arrive to take us the rest of our journey. We weren't told this. We arrived at. 05.30am. The night porter was no where to be found we had to search for him. We were booked in nobody to help with luggage. Our room was red hot the fridge was left unplugged. In side was a small bottle of warm water and ham and cheese sandwich wrapped in clingfilm. We had to throw this away. We asked for more bottle water as my step son has kidney disease can only drink bottled water he had medication to take. They never even tried to accommodate us. The rest of the holiday settled after speaking to the Tui rep. He was a good guy. The pool staff and bar staff are amazing. So friendly helpful staff. The hotel staff are not so nice, they are not very helpful, there was 1 young lady there who was lovely. Maria. She helped where ever she could. The food is very basic and the same every morning the fried eggs are cold and slimey. They dont put lots out so ran out often there was omelette also cold and was chopped into bits the other option was egg omelettewith chips mixed in. So called continental no provision for the English tourist. The evening meals are mainly the same with a different flavour. We eat at the hotel restaurant on site and bought items from the only shop within 5 miles. The evening meal there is no option to have drink u less you buy it even water or wine etc. No tea or even coffee. The food hall staff need to learn hospitslity etiquette. They all look miserable. There is nothing around the hotel at all. There is nothing for evening entertainment. They had Greek dance crew on Saturday, sorry to say but red bandana does not count as traditional dress they were like a beginners class on trial. You had to pay for everything. Take taxi's everywhere on average cost about 40€ each way. The beach and pool area are the highlight to this hotel. The hotel shop has very limited stock. The lady looks like she hates working there. The cleaners are nice and excellent at their job as arrived the gardeners. You can't leave a towel on sunbed it will get moved by a grumpy gardener. The grounds are well maintained. We paid a lot i taxi fairs to get out of three hotel for something different. There is a taverner at the hotel the staff are amazing and treat you with respect. The day before we left we had 3 sunbeds by the pool as we had done for 2 weeks. The pool life guard took me towel and expensive sunglasses put them on another sunbed of somebody I didn't know took my sunbed I had been laying on. I was sat in the shade for ten min. I went and asked why he had taken my bed. He said they should be in 2's I had paid for 3 adults he said I could move and sit somewhere else. Apart from my family. I asked to see the Manager after spending 10 min with him. He told me to find him. I went to the bar she fetched the manager she came to the top of the bar entrance and turned away. I went and hot another sunbed from somewhere else. The manager was at reception when we tried to book a room tokeep till we left. Pick up time was 19.00. Room bookoyf time is 12pm. 7 hrs I. Hot weather 35 deg no shower alternative offered we were told no rooms available they didn't even look. The manager was talking in Greek yo the desk lady when we asked. Telling her not yo give us a room. This hotel looks amazing and us apart from thd food and very unhelpful staff unless other wise mentioned. They ruined my very much need holiday after neatly loosing my step son last year to sepsis and 5 weeks in the ICU. Lousy beginner and a disrespectful end. We spent well over £2000 in the hotel with alternate food and taxis and drinks at meal times. Totally disgusted. We were the only English in the hotel at d would recommend that you don't go. KYRPIGI IS THE BEST PLACE. Wonderful bar called Casablanca. Spent 3 hours there it was the best time of our holiday run by Debbie lovely Welsh lady. So friendly and staff are amazing.

    Worst place ever

    rating09 Aug 2025

Worst staff, worst people ever. They are robbing rooms and work together. Cleaning ladies are stealing keys and giving other employees and then they enter the room and are stealing. Today I stayed in the room cause I was not feeling well when all of the sudden a male entered the room and started going through our stuff. I yelled from the balcony and then he ran. When I asked the stuff to bring cameras back they said that they don’t have cameras and were not surprised at all. Few days earlier a lady was robbed as well. Do not come here.

Not at all a 4*, I will avoid it next time for vacation

    rating28 Jul 2024

Location 3.5/5: Pros : It is located in a peaceful surrounding with beautiful nature Cons: Far from any town and must own a car to have some kind of entertainmentHotel 3/5: Rooms 4/5 (because of the cleanness) : Pros: The room was clean and spacious, it was cleaned everyday (you just must press the CLEAN ROOM button) and new towels accordingly were left. Mosquito net was installed on one of the windows. Cons: Everything was connected on the power source dependent of a card installed on the outlet - even the fridge (first time I have seen this in a hotel) and the light outside, so if you pull out the card nothing worked ( even the fridge !? ). I needed to ask for a second card so I can sit outside – the second card part will be explained below. From the so-called vent-window in the bathroom there was some smell once, and all the time we could hear the staff working, arguing, yelling, rolling the carrousels… And there was a wall-mounted dispenser that had a all-in-one (shampoo, shower and conditioner  ) gel inside – first time seen as well in a 4* hotel but what do I know. Meal 2/5 (this is because I eat everything): Pros: If you are little picky about your food you can’t find any pros. For me, a gourmand, the dinner was ok. The Breakfast was another story(see cons). Cons: At BREAKFAST if you are somehow egg and milk intolerant you will literally stay hungry as it was SAME EVERY DAY and was egg based (eggs cooked on all ways). Even I, a gourmand, was annoyed after the third day. Literally this was the breakfast(in order of placement of the food): Coffee machines, water/juice machine, lady that cooked eggs on every possible way + pancakes (eggs and flour  ), some kind of soup – smelled awful so I do not know its taste, cabbage based salad, sliced tomatoes, olives, milk and cereals, small butter and small crème packages, boiled small sausages, some small no-filled croissants, bread and dessert consisting of some sweet cookies and sliced water-melon exclusively, some times slices of melon and peach added…At DINNER they were trying to maintain some variety (as the owners daughter and manager of the hotel claimed, when some guests were complaining at the reception about the food – always four different meats) but the main ingredient was liver meat and some pork meat that was awful. Fish – every third day, small slices cooked with rice, never a whole fish… The sweet dessert was 90% some gelatin substance and from time to time they would bring three to four peace`s of some cakes that were promptly taken from who noticed  so we managed to try some once because my wife was at the dessert table when they brought them. And there was always the water-melon option in which I once found a hair fiber and disgusted my life – about the reaction of the manager read below. There was NOT ANY DRINK – not even water, if you want something you need to order it and pay. The overall impression was that they were trying to cut of everything that is possible and to serve as little as they can and to charge for everything possible (that is the overall impression of the hotel in general)And a tip of advice – from experience if you ever visit this hotel and eat at the dining area, have some dining clothes prepared for the meals, so you will not have the cooked-food odor on all of your clothes. Hotel stuff 3/5 (because of the cleaning lady and the boy and girl on the beach): Pros: All the employees at the hotel, especially the cleaning lady and the boy and the girl at the beach were very kind, but all of them were acting accordingly to the instructions of the manager which is a huge con. Cons: Reception stuff was nice until they needed to resolve some problem. Then they acted as lost in space (acted as they do not know anything) - acted accordingly to the managers advises. And the manager was relatively rude when there was an issue reported by the guests. When I asked for a solution of the problem with the power for the light outside (see my room cons) I was advised by the reception stuff (in communication with the manager) to leave the door open??? (to invite all the mosquitoes inside) …. I complained little more and because there was another family that was complaining for the food and the manager rudely was answering to their complains, she was cot in crossfire of complains and she needed to resolve my problem by promising me another card to get the next day (which I got) – I am not sure that I would get another card if there was not rush of complains ( maybe I am wrong-that was my impression). The problem solving was emphasized when I complained for the hair fiber found in the dessert – I was asked if I told someone in the restaurant, that they do not know anything ( as there are not connected in any way  ). Facilities (garden, pool, tavern, kids park) 4/5: Pros: The garden was magnificent, well kept, variety of trees and palms and clean. The pool and beach bar were nice, sunbeds by the pool were free of charge although I did not use the pool ( I never use pools when there is sea 10m from them). The gym was relatively ok and the kids playground was satisfactory. Cons: Pool bar and taverna prices were little bit higher compared to the rest of the places in the area. Beach 3/5: Pros: There was more than enough space between umbrellas which was the most important thing for me outside of water. The boy and girl that were working on the beach were very polite and deserve a rate of 5. Cons: Sunbeds ware charged 5 EUR for one, and were pretty old. The beach was blue flag beach although it did not deserve it – the lifeguard was also a sunbed manager/charger and a waiter – 3 in 1 which is unacceptable, the beach outside was sandy with rocky areas and inside was sandy but very uneven beneath with ups and downs (which was very unsafe for moderate swimmers), with sea-weeds and big rocks (on which I managed easily to hurt my foot)-in one word awfull. And there were sea waves all of the days we stayed ( had to put it in cons ).Overall, I would never again stay at this hotel, it is far from anything and did not meet the cost-benefit terms – you pay good and get average toward bad.

A green oasis by the sea...

    rating05 Jul 2024

A heavenly place for calm and peaceful holidays! The private beach in front of the hotel is just amazing and there are plenty of seabeds available at any time. It is the only hotel I've visited in Chalkidiki with soo many trees! It makes the effort to keep it green and vibrant quite remarkable. Our dinner at the lovely sea reastaurant was delicious! (try the shrimps and the octopus) Wonderful and rich breakfast, spacious, clean room with a view, smiling and helpful personnel and a serene atmosphere. What more could we ask..

    The beauty of Hotel Mendi

    rating28 May 2024

Beautiful experience, when we reached at the hotel we were amazed how beautiful the surroundings are. The staff is friendly, making us feel welcoming. The food is tasty, very healthy and you have lots of options to choose from.My 6 years old daughter ,Maria was very happy with the playground, which is an add on to the all day pool activity and the beach. The pool bar has got amazing staff, which are always satisfying with extra, great customer connection and positive attitude. The room was so clean, my daughter loved her little cozy bed and the cleaning service was spot on very day.The surroundings are speechless: the peaceful olive trees, the beautiful flowers, the water fountain which lights in the night brings you such a joy and a lovely experience. The entire staff of the hotel is so friendly, from the staff to the owner of the hotel which is a genuine lady with a beautiful heart. We are so happy that we chosen Mendi hotel and we recommend it to everyone which appreciate authenticity and beauty. We had a beautiful experience and we will certainly return to this beautiful place.
