This friendly-family hotel is located in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Svoronata, yet still within easy reach of all local amenities, offering a fantastic base for exploration and beautiful views over olive groves and the picturesque Greek countryside. It is just 400 m from the sandy Ammes beach, but also has 3 more lovely beaches nearby. The town of Argostoli is only 9 km away, no more than 15 minutes' drive. The bus station is roughly 800 m from the hotel and Argostolion Airport is approximately 2 km away.

Facility

21 rooms are available to guests in a 2-storey main building and 2 auxiliary buildings. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Guests can store valuables in the safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. Everyday necessities can be purchased at the supermarket. The souvenir shop gives guests the opportunity to bring home mementos of their holiday. The grounds of the holiday village feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a car hire service, medical assistance and room service. A bicycle hire service gives guests the opportunity to explore the surrounding area independently. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. Guests are sure to get a good night's sleep in the double bed. A safe provides secure storage for guests' personal property. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, stovetop, tea/coffee station and oven. A telephone, a TV and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms include a hairdryer and are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. The complex has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area. A hot tub invites guests to soothe their muscles, and a poolside snack bar will take care of any hungry bellies. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, fishing and horse riding are available. With windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. A wide range of indoor sports are offered, including darts or, for a fee, a gym, table tennis and billiards. There is a wellness area with a spa, a hammam, a beauty salon and a solarium and, for an additional fee, a sauna and massage treatments.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant, a café and a bar. Half board is offered as a catering option. Breakfast gives guests plenty of delicious reasons to get out of bed in the morning. and dinner offer a wide range of dishes. Special culinary options, such as diet meals, are also available. The complex also offers special catering options.

    Wow. Unique hotel for book lovers.

    I've read about this hotel many times. So purposely made a side trip to stay here.It did not disappoint. The books, libraries made this one of the most unique hotels I've stayed in. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Amazing location - a few steps outside the castle wall. Highly recommend the restaurant/dinner and breakfast (home made pastries!) Definitely recommend this for all book lovers or a place just to chill and relax.

    The Book and Cook restaurant here, is a superb restaurant in a library in a hotel. Food was fantastic also the staff were friendly, polite and courteous.

    Exceptional value in a historic hotel

    Convenient location just outside the medieval town walls, in an area just as historic and beautiful but quieter, less crowded and more reasonably priced than within the walls. The hotel is in a rambling and charming former monastery, and the rooms and common areas are stocked with 60,000 books in a tribute to Obidos' literary reputation. Our room (one of two suites in the hotel, and a real bargain) was spacious and comfortable with a bedroom, sitting room and two full baths, plus a private balcony. The hotel's restaurant was superb - we had an elegant dinner featuring innovative takes on traditional Portuguese cuisine. Breakfasts in Portuguese hotels are usually very generous but this one was exceptional, featuring a wide variety of freshly baked items made in-house. The staff was friendly and very helpful throughout.     I was worried about staying here after reading some reviews and realizing it was outside of the city walls, however my fears were unfounded. The hotel is a few feet from an entrance to the city and the fact that it was outside made parking and luggage drop off a breeze. We had friends staying inside and it was somewhat of a nightmare to drop them off. In fact I'm not entirely sure that we won't receive a fine in the near future for trying to drop them off. As for the hotel, we had two rooms and both were big and comfortable. I only took videos of the rooms and can't figure out how to post them here. The breakfast was generous and even had an option for freshly cooked eggs. We weren't able to do e at the hotel but the dinning room was very full of ambience and beautiful. The hotel has a lovely patio that we sneaked out to at night and I can imagine it would be lovely to sit out there with a glass of wine and unwind at the end of the day. I would highly recommend this hotel and Obidos and would stay here again if we are ever in the area again.
