    I've come to Greece many times over the years, but this is my favorite place to stay and my favorite island. Terra Mare Resort is "simple luxury" with an owner (Nicos) who cares. The large property has trees full of oranges, lemons and loquats, an amazing pool and overlooks beautiful Livadi Bay. Lixouri town is only a few minutes away by car and a ferry across the bay to Argostoli is only 3 euros. Nicos' rates are way too low and breakfast is included. The ONLY thing I'd change is to convert that unused tennis court into a pickleball court Nicos :)

    We enjoyed our stay at this place more than we would have ever expected. It was mainly due to the owner, Nicos, who is a kind, charismatic and skillful man with a big heart. The accommodation is set in large grounds where everyone can find their privacy and own cosy, tidy and clean room. The curtains can create complete darkness during the night and it's possible to use the AC on a hot summer day. We have always had a great night's sleep here.In the lunge area, where you can have a drink or find anything you need, we met some hotel guests who have been coming back for years.This is definetely a sign that the hotel is worthy of a return visit.

    Nikos the GOAT!

    Nikos, the owner, was extremely accommodating from start to finish. Our flight was delayed meaning we arrived at the hotel at 2:30am yet Nikos stayed up to ensure we arrived safe and sound. He helped us hire a car, gave us advice on where to go and what to do as well as restaurants/bars he liked. Very clean and neat. Room had everything we needed and even a balcony (surrounded by orange trees). Very big pool with decent view of the hills. 10 minute drive to the nearest town Lixouri which has shops, restaurants, bars, and a ferry service to Argostoli, another town with similar amenities. We will be back purely to see Nikos again! P.S. if you want one of the best meals of your life, please eat at "the corner" restaurant in Lixouri, we ate there multiple times and were consistently impressed.

    What a great Hotel with Nikos as your host who couldn't do enough to make your stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is basic but the rooms have all the facilities that you require including air conditioning in the bedrooms. We were not supposed to be staying at the hotel but so glad we did. If you are on the island pay Nikos a visit and I am sure he will look after you .

    Our daughter participated in the turtle project in 2021. She needed some extra days before and after between flights and project. We found this hotel via Booking. She was over the moon when she came back. Faith in hospitality restored! She insisted we would go back and experience it ourselves.This year we spend 2-weeks summer holiday with Nikos and family and what a fantastic host! Nikos and team, thank you so much for the great stay. We had a fantastic time and if there is anything Nikos can do for you, he will. (Big) Beer o'clock, frappe o'clock, cocktail o'clock, let's make time for that. He arranged a rental car for us last-minute and he has a great network of contacts. It has been a great pleasure to stay a Terra Mare and we look forward to coming again in the future.
