Beautiful gardens and great staff, but poor room assignment and heartbreaking situation of local cats

    rating02 May 2026

Pros:* Beautiful, clean gardens with a huge variety of plants.* Excellent food selection: A very wide variety and large choice of dishes.* Comfortable beds* very kind staff in the bars and restaurants.Cons:* The biggest disappointment was the reception and their thoughtless room assignment policy. Despite waiting for 7 hours and making multiple requests, our group (two couples) was given rooms in completely different, distant parts of the resort. We noticed other guests being assigned rooms in our buildings at the same time, so fulfilling our request was clearly possible but ignored. Even worse, families with infants were placed in buildings directly next to the animation pavilion, where loud evening shows constantly woke the children.* Food temperature: While the choice is great, the food is often cold (especially eggs/omelets). Grilled meats were frequently undercooked.THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CATS – URGENT APPEAL:The hotel has a stand for bowls with the hotel logo and the words "We care about animals." This is highly misleading. It implies the hotel provides food and care, but they do NOT. They only allow guests to do it. It's good that the cats are not chased away. Aside from a few beautiful cats from "Piano Bar"and some strong males from the main restaurant, most are in a desperate struggle. They are malnourished, suffering from "cat flu," or missing eyes. I witnessed starving cats eating plain boiled rice with chickpeas; they went frantic when I gave them dry cat food. I spent my week nursing a one-eyed small kitten with a bloody infection—he survived because of extra food.IMPORTANT HELP:If you see a cat that is injured, severely ill, or exhausted, please contact the local foundation Animal Rescue Kos. They helped me with a cat that had a head wound. They do amazing work, so I also appeal to everyone to support them financially if possible. To all guests: Please buy some cat food at a local shop or share meat from the buffet. Fill the bowls near the scratching post with fresh water. Their lives are entirely in our hands.

Great hotel. So much to do. Superb for Gluten Free & Coeliac

    rating30 Mar 2026

What a fabulous hotel. I cannot recommend enough for anyone who is Gluten Free or Coeliac. My son (age 11) was diagnosed with coeliac disease last year and we thought we'd never be able to go all inclusive again as it would be too stressful. I found this hotel and was in touch before booking to ensure they would be able to accommodate him, so he wasn't just eating cardboard for meals! They were very helpful, answered all my concerns and so we booked. Obviously we were apprehensive on arrival but there was no need. We arrived late at night and the next morning we had an appointment with the Head Chef ('Chef') who went through everything with us and told us everything we needed to know, even where our son could find GF pancakes! At every meal we were allocated a Sous chef who would show us around the buffet letting our son know what he could eat and then he chose his options and it would all be prepared separately in the kitchen and brought out to us. So much choice and such a lot of good food! Amazing service. AND, we saw Chef most mealtimes too as he was constantly overseeing things to make sure everyone was happy - not just our family. It was such a relief to not have to worry about the dietary element of the holiday. Linda in guest services was a star, helping us to organise the bookings in all the restaurants. She was always on hand for any queries or suggestions, even when it probably wasn't her job to do it. So helpful. The hotel is BIG, but the golf buggies make it easy to get around. There is such a lot to do, so many pools, the water park and all the activities. I thoroughly enjoyed the aqua fit! The TUI kids club was amazing too. Thank you for making our trip so memorable. We will definitely be back. Great family hotel

    rating01 Feb 2026

I went in September and only negative I have is the pools were cold, but I blame myself for going so late on in the season. Other than that I don’t know what people moan about, we booked restaurant reservations every night and food was really nice. My little boy is 1 and ate from the main buffet every night also. We like good food and tbh we were never disappointed always loads to choose from as long as you’re not fussy eaters. We hired bikes for the day went into KOS town, got the bus also but they were rammed and on one occasions wouldn’t let on as we had a pram but we got a taxi instead. The staff were lovely so attentive and gave my boy so much attention, very good entertainment at night for children. The private beach wasn’t the best but again we got a taxi to one near KOS town and ate at the beach bars (Nissi Beach bar). We just had a larger room on the ground floor which was fine and was given a cot. We paid for late checkout a couple of days before departing which was cheaper than TUI. Hotel isn’t in a prime location and for this reason only I wouldn’t return. A Spacious and Welcoming Resort with Room for Improvement

    rating10 Dec 2025

The Blue Lagoon Resort offers a setting designed for convenience and relaxation, which became clear during our stay with a group of ten. The resort’s layout and organisation play an important role in shaping the overall experience, especially for larger groups. One of the resort’s strongest features is the reliability of its staff. Throughout our stay, employees responded quickly and effectively to practical requests, such as arranging taxis, assisting with luggage or managing restaurant reservations. Their consistently friendly attitude made the daily organisation noticeably easier. The resort also proves to be well-suited for group travel. Its spacious layout allows guests to move around easily without feeling crowded, which reduces logistical stress for larger parties. Activities and evening shows were organised in such a way that everyone had the option to join without contributing to overcrowding. Despite these strengths, the resort’s approach to additional fees is a significant drawback. Although it presents itself as all-inclusive, several basic facilities required substantial extra payment. Access to the spa, beach chairs and certain services came with unexpected charges. These added costs can be disappointing for guests who rely on the promise of an all-inclusive formula and expect essential amenities to be part of the package.Overall, the Blue Lagoon Resort offers dependable service and an efficient layout that works particularly well for larger groups. While the extra fees diminish the value of its all-inclusive concept, the friendliness of the staff and the well-organised environment contributed to a comfortable stay. Guests travelling in groups will likely appreciate the resort’s spaciousness and practical structure, provided they are aware of the additional charges.

    Not a 5 star...more like a 3!

    rating09 Nov 2025

After booking what we thought was a 5 star, platinum all inclusive hotel, we were excited, however that excitement turned to bitter disappointment when we got there.I will give the pro's first as that is the quickest....Staff are very attentive and friendlyThe piano bar is fabulous to relax in with live music most nights and great drinks The hotel grounds a huge and very prettyNegativesThe satellite site (where we stayed) is quite a distance from the main hotel site, those less able bodied and with young children will struggle going between the two if not on the golf cartsFood in every restaurant we attended was Luke warm at best, with the only hot food being soup made from a powder mixThe a la carte restaurants do not cook to order as you would expect, with all food being massive produced and again Luke warmYou have to book to gain access to any restaurant apart from the buffet style restaurantBoth alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks are watered down (apart from in the piano bar)If you like a full English breakfast go on elsewhere, the bacon is not proper bacon and the beans are watered down to stretch furtherThe rooms we stayed in were dated and in ill repair (block 8000) and definitely not a 5 star level (beds didn't have bedding to fit, it was a constant fight to be comfortable No milk provided in the rooms for tea or coffee (a guest challenged this and were told it was because the temperature was too hot! Every room had a fridge)Bottled water provided in the room on day 1 was not replenished but you were expected to refill from the tapsOur room was not cleaned properly everyday, with me finding other people's hair in it and the sinks and sanitary ware not been cleaned downThe shower (a small 800x800 cubicle) was not sealed correctly leading the the floor being wet through (bath mat of no use after one shower), the doors not secured and pulled away, and a bath mixer tap used on the wall which was in the way when washing giving even less space and finally the shower head was fixed in height so impeded washing even further!Overall one of the poorest all inclusive hotels I have stayed in. What was provided was more of a 3 star at best.Thankfully TUI have been brilliant about this and have received our full feedback..my advice is if you are staying in Lambi, don't stay here.
