  A Truly Exceptional Stay in Samos

  A wonderful hotel with a beautifully maintained garden, an excellent location, and breathtaking views of the sea and the Turkish coastline. The atmosphere throughout the resort feels elegant, relaxing, and truly luxurious.The sunbeds, both on the beach and by the pool, were extremely comfortable. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious, with excellent quality and a great variety every morning. The staff were exceptionally kind, helpful, and highly professional at all times — whether in the restaurants, at the beach, by the pool, or throughout the resort. You can truly feel the luxury approach to guests everywhere, and that deserves a special extra star.Special thanks to Leah — her recommendations for exploring the island were incredibly helpful. The map with all the marked places became absolutely essential for our trip, and without her guidance we would never have discovered some of the best spots on Samos.A special thank you also to Angeliki, who always welcomed us with a beautiful smile during breakfast and later at the beach bar served delicious coffees and drinks, always accompanied by a small sweet treat that made every moment even more enjoyable.Many thanks as well to Iraklis for his exceptionally elegant and professional approach to guests. His style of hospitality truly stands out and creates a very special experience.Special thanks also to Sophie, who gave us such a warm welcome upon arrival at the hotel. We also shared a memorable experience together while helping to rescue one of the cats living around the resort. Interestingly, almost half of the hotel guests became involved in helping, which beautifully showed the kindness and care people in Greece have not only for each other, but also for stray animals. It was a small but truly heartwarming moment of our stay.We would also like to thank the charming young bartender at the beach bar who helped organize a birthday surprise on the beach for my friend — a truly memorable moment.A warm thank you to the lady taking care of our bungalow room for her kindness, warm greetings every day, and even teaching us a few Greek words with great patience and positivity.We also greatly appreciated the staff responsible for the internal buggy transportation around the resort — always available, always smiling, and always willing to help.It is worth mentioning that the hotel is located on a hillside, so there are many stairs and slopes to walk. But after enjoying huge Greek meals and excellent wine in the tavernas around Pythagorio during our stay, we actually treated all those steps as a fun daily workout rather than a disadvantage. And for guests who prefer easier transportation, the buggy service around the resort is always a very convenient option.Overall, Proteas Blu Resort is an outstanding hotel that offers luxury, professionalism, warmth, and unforgettable hospitality. We would gladly return.

  Beautiful hotel, beautiful area

  We visited 4th -11th May 2026 as part of our 30th wedding anniversary. Can I just say what a lovely to be upgraded from sea view to sea front view which was absolutely stunning. One of the nicest views ever, just sea as far as the eye can sea and Turkey across the water. We were so spoilt for our anniversary: 30 balloon, a happy anniversary sign, bottle of fizz and chocolate. In the room were 2 hats, flip flops and a beach bag. What a great welcome.I am going to start with little tweaks that can be made to make it even better:* a couple of plants in reception. The reception is the first thing you see and often has the wow factor. At Proteas Blu, it is all white and looks very sterile. Greenery would bring the place alive* no tea making facilities in the room* a five start should have an iron in the room* last orders were very early, think around 930. so if you came back to the hotel at 10.30, nothing was open.* I would expect more than 2 types of juice in a 5 starPositives* reception staff were absolutely lovely, chatty and helpful.* breakfast was more than adequate. A good choice. There were fried and scrambled eggs but if you want poached, just ask. Is there an omelette station as we have seen it mentioned in reviews? Staff at breakfast were again friendly. Good selection of teas. Lovely thick yoghurt.* decent toiletries in the rooms*Housekeeping efficient and friendly* little gifts appear: a bottle of wine, a t-shirt. So thoughtful* great location: around 15-20 minute walk from Pythagorio. Only 8 euros in a taxi* adults only* decent pool, just a bit cold at this type of year* you feel looked after* reception can arrange car hire and very affordable.Be aware if walking into town, there are very few footpathsThe hotel is quite hilly but you can call for the golf buggy.Visit Kokkari: beautiful little town, very prettyVisit the capital of Samos. Walk round to the wine museum: 5 euros and 3 samples of wineSamos dry wine is very very good.If you get a chance take a trip over the water to Turkey and visit Ephesus: amazing.Have a wander around the ruined castle and light a candle in the church at PythagorioWe had a absolutely lovely time. A wonderful hotel and Samos is beautiful and idyllic. Thank you

  Noisy hotel.with no non-smoking s

  Noise terrible. Unacceptable.that gueats are allowed to smoke in open area close to bedrooms..Layout of hotel.unpractical based on fact that open area is close to bedrooms. Will report the smoking issue to Head Office. No signs? Looked ok on the surface. Female sat smoking since we arrived at 17.30. Evening of 20 May. No respect.

  Amazing hotel with breath - taking scenery over - looking the beautiful Aegian sea. From a very welcoming reception, with professionalism and friendly, knowledgeable staff our stay was fantastic. The hotel is well maintained, very clean and spacious, calm and relaxing. The breakfast was very good, well presented and had a fantastic choice. All the staff that we encountered were polite,and helpful.Our room was overlooking the sea, with panoramic views. We were left small gifts most days which were a lovely touch, and totally unexpected.We spent days around the pool, where Nic the lifeguard was very friendly, courteous ,and knowledgable about the Island and Hotel. There were clean beach towels every day ,and enough sunbeds either around the pool area, or the private beach areas.In the evenings we booked taxis from reception, and they arrived in minutes, and very reasonable, costing 8 Euros into Pythagorio.Samos is a very beautiful island, with lots to explore, and our last stay there was 32 years ago, so we decided to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary at Proteas Blu Resort, and we were not disappointed, it still has the charm and feel of the Island we remembered, and the hotel and facilities are stunning.and impressive.   A Superbly Run Hotel, Fabulous Position, Wonderful Staff

  Just returned from a fabulous stay at Proteas Blu. Very glad I opted for this hotel, it was the nicest by far of the hotels I came across during my travels on the island. It enjoys the most magnificent, elevated setting, with panoramic views across the sea and Aegean landscape. Tiered room blocks, dotted amongst manicured gardens, cascade in a steep slope downwards from the main building, where you'll find reception, the spa, the tiny gym and further rooms. Golf buggies are on hand to run guests to and fro as needed. I didn't immediately fall in love with the hotel, as the point of arrival, the reception area, is vast and somewhat soulless, but other parts - the pool, the restaurants, the beach, are all very stylish and appealing. Like most in Samos, the beach is pebbly. I opted for a Seafront Room, which was as described, the front row of room blocks, with uninterrupted pool and ocean views, plus a sweet little balcony. These rooms are slightly bigger than the Seaview Rooms, but pretty much the same layout. Decor is simple but pretty, with lots of thought put in - plenty of charging points and hangers, a decent array of toiletries, handy vanity mirror, mini fridge, a bath and a shower. You are also love-bombed throughout the week with a generous array of gifts including wine, sun hats and T shirts. I did sorely miss not having a kettle though, and overheard another guest complaining that rooms didn't provide hot beverage facilities. Breakfast was a varied and well maintained buffet, served in the pool/beachside restaurant, and other meals taken in-house were pretty good. Service was superb on all occasions and across all departments, and as ever, it is this aspect of the hotel that makes all the difference. Staff were really helpful and efficient, and the hotel generally has the feel of a very well run operation, with guest satisfaction the driving ethos. It is less than 10 minutes by taxi into town, at a cost of €8 and they always arrived within minutes of asking reception to book. It is possible to walk but small sections of the route don't have a proper path. Pythagorieio is a wonderful base, you are spoilt for choice for good restuarants and bars, and the town is also the port for ferries to Turkey and other Greek islands.A wonderful stay, I grew to absolutely love the hotel.
