    A scam

    rating30 Sept 2025

Horrendous booking experience with no possibility for myself to check in on behalf of my relative who booked it under his name. I believe that it a system to derive money from cancellation at the expense of the travellers. In summary, it's a scam.

Lovely Property, But Disappointing Experience with Management

    rating07 Jun 2025

The hotel is beautiful—quiet, clean, and in a great location. Our room was well-appointed, and the staff arranged airport transportation at our request. The driver was courteous, and we paid the quoted fare by credit card without issue. However, there were two major letdowns. First, our outdoor tub didn’t work properly—only half the jets functioned, and it wouldn’t shut off. We reported it to the front desk, but it was never fixed during our stay. The bigger issue came with the hotel-arranged transportation to the ferry port. They quoted a price, but when we arrived, the driver charged us 50% more, refused to take a card, and demanded cash. He claimed the quote was for airport transfer, not port—though the hotel was fully aware of our destination when we booked. We had no prior contact with the driver and relied on the hotel’s quote and arrangement. When I emailed the hotel afterward, they distanced themselves, saying the service was third-party and they don’t control the rates. That might be fair—if they hadn’t been the ones quoting and arranging it.What really soured the experience was the hotel manager’s response. Instead of acknowledging the issue or expressing empathy, he accused us of trying to “intimidate” the hotel with our complaint and implied it was inappropriate to mention leaving a review. He also expressed surprise that we hadn’t challenged the driver, though we did. We’re glad we didn’t book excursions through the hotel—based on this experience, we’d worry about unexpected charges and a lack of accountability. It’s unfortunate that this was the final memory of our otherwise great time in Santorini. The hotel has a lot going for it, but how issues are handled—especially by management—matters just as much.

    Just the facts

    rating14 May 2025

We built the itinerary of our island hopping trip (44th anniversary) around available dates for the Honeymoon Suites at Aura Suites on Santorini that showed panoramic sunset views, private outdoor hot tub, and double shower heads in a gorgeous enclosed shower. We got NONE of the above. Aura Suites pulled a bait and switch. Only ONE of their three Honeymoon Suites comes close what they promise…the other two are full of deception. Read all the other reviews and look at the pictures and avoid traveling halfway around the world only to be disappointed. We stayed in room #6. Look at the attached pictures and compare them to what is advertised on any travel booking site. NO sunset views! NO double shower! COLD hot tub! Also note that the “private hot tub” has no privacy and the panoramic views are limited to an arc of less than 30 degrees. Only room #8 has the double shower! The limited caldera view from room #7 is not obstructed.

    Beautiful Stay

    rating06 May 2025

The property was absolutely stunning.I have recommended this hotel to several of my friends and family since being home. From arrival the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly - check you in, offer you a glass of wine, give you plently of information about the island, and take you to the room. The rooms are very modern and luxary vibe, clean, smells fresh when you enter them. The hot tub was lovely - I've seen a couple of comments about the hot tub not being HOT but who wants a really hot tub in hot weather? I seen it more as a warm pool It was around 17degrees when I was there end of April, with abit of wind and with really hot times of the day and it was lovely to get into.On the odd occasion whilst having a day in the hotel the reception girls would come and offer a glass of wine.Fantastic serviceThey is no shop or food and drink on the hotel premises. However the staff will organise breakfast to be delivered for you to enjoy at your balcony. They will even organise takeaways in the evening to be delivered to you. They did also offer transfer service - however we used booking.com for our transfers as they were around half the price. The hotel is in good location. You can walk left out of the gate and find a little shop with snacks & drinks. And also a place for gyrosOr you could walk right out of the hotel gate to lots of restaurants, amazing views, bars, souvenir shops & breakfast locations. The actual hotel itself is located in the middle of Santorini island - which was perfect - we hired a quad bike for 3 days and managed to travel to different points up and down the island several times. We seen everything.& They wasn't anything that we didn't like. It generally was a beautiful hotel. My ONLY suggestion - is to perhaps put a few sun loungers in the empty space on the top floor next to reception. This is only because we had to check out at 11am - however wasn't getting picked up till 4pm. © And whilst the hotel offered to held our luggage for us, they wasn't really anything for us to do for 5 hours unless we wanted to walk around shops for 5 hours... Would of been perfect with a few sun loungers / chill area that we could use after check out (they do have a big empty space for it) and I don't mean anything extravagant- just 4 sun loungers or something! However - this isn't fault of the hotel, I was already fully aware we had to check out at 11am when booking this hotel.

    Amazing location in Santorini.

    rating27 Sept 2024

Loved our room and the location of this Accomodation. Firostefani is perfect for a Santorini visit as it has enough restaurants, bars, markets, vibe etc. for your stay but out of the cruise ship passenger hell of Fira. And only a 10 min (probably less) walk to Fira if you need to go there (I’d recommend just going once and that’s it). We had room no. 9 Executive Suite and it was perfect. Looks just like the pictures and it is on the bottom level and at the end of the patio so only room no. 10 walks past you. ( room 2 would be similar, only room 1 walks past you). That being said most of Santorini is so compact everyone is walking past you in your hot tub! Aura Suites is not a serviced hotel, just rooms and just a little reception check in office at the top. The two reception girls (day and night) were lovely and friendly and helpful. Read the conditions carefully when booking (unlike the negative reviews) and your stay will be amazing. Highly recommend. Oh yes since the sunset is a crazy obsession on this Island, in September the sun is setting perfectly directly in front of Firostefani over the island Thirasia. Mid summer would be more to the right closer to Skaros Rock (I assume). P.s. shout out to Galini Cafe right beside Aura Suites that was our go to cappucino and breakfast joint. Always great to have a local spot.
