  Worth It for the Views – A Great Base to Explore Santorini

  We stayed in the Executive Suite at Dreaming View Suites, Imerovigli, and overall had a really lovely time. The main selling point here is without a doubt the stunning views over the caldera – honestly, pictures online just don’t do Santorini justice, and waking up to that view every day was unforgettable.That being said, like some other reviews have mentioned, the rooms could do with a bit of TLC. It’s a little run down in places, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we didn’t have any issues with noise or cleanliness. For us, it was fine because we spent most of our time exploring the island rather than sitting in the room. But if you’re someone who wants luxury and plans to spend a lot of time inside, it may not be the perfect fit – especially given the price point.The staff were absolutely lovely – very warm and welcoming, which really made a difference to our stay. Breakfast wasn’t a 10/10 experience, but it was perfectly fine, and more than enough to set us up for a day of walking and exploring.As for Santorini itself – it’s truly breathtaking. The island is full of steps and hills, so be prepared for a lot of walking (I did over 100,000 steps in just 4 nights!). Fira ended up being our favourite spot, with more going on and slightly wider streets than Oia, though of course you’ll pay a premium for any restaurant or bar with a caldera view. Oia is beautiful, but in my opinion a little overrated compared to Fira.One of the highlights of our trip was the cruise tour of the volcano, hot springs, and Thirassia. I couldn’t recommend it enough – the boat trip itself was brilliant, and even though I wish we’d had a little longer at the hot springs, it was such a memorable experience and really worth doing.A small tip for anyone planning a visit: keep an eye on how many cruise ships are docked. On our first day there were six, and Fira was absolutely jam-packed – the queue for the cable cars snaked all through the narrow streets, making it difficult to move around. The next day there was only one cruise ship, and the difference was huge – it felt calm, relaxed, and we could actually take in all that the island had to offer.Overall, while the accommodation isn’t flawless, the views, location, and staff more than made up for it. We would happily stay here again, especially as a base for exploring the island.   For the price we paid, this was a huge letdown — a great view can’t compensate for poor quality and presentation

  The view is undeniably beautiful — that’s the one thing this property has going for it. The staff were lovely and very polite throughout. Special credit to the man who carried our bags through the steep, difficult access path; he truly went above and beyond and deserves far better pay for what he does.Unfortunately, almost everything else fell short of expectations. The room was noticeably run down and not clean at all. It did not match the photos on the booking site — very misleading. The bathroom was quite disgusting, and to top it off, there was no hot water, forcing us to take cold showers. Access to the property is complicated and should come with a strong warning — anyone with mobility issues would seriously struggle here. Breakfast was cold on arrival and entirely underwhelming. Considering the premium price we paid, we expected a significantly higher standard across the board — this was not worth the cost.   It's very beautiful. Convenient to all the top locations in Santorini. Breakfast was a delight you shouldn't miss. Staff were very professional and helpful specially Alexandra at the reception. She was one step ahead all the time and definitely deserves a pay rise for her hard work and honesty. We will definitely recommend this suites/hotel to our family and friends.

  Where to begin, do not book here if you want to stay in what you pay for. We booked 7 months in advance for the advertised “premier suite with indoor jacuzzi” and this is far from what we got. To start things off, when we arrived to the ‘hotel’ there was a note on the window saying “if your checking in call this number ***”, after many calls and waiting in the sun they finally answered and sent someone down for us. Our bags were then taken to the room we were given and we were sent to reception, which was no where near where the reception was meant to be. After checking in we went back to the room to realise it was no where near what we paid for, it was small, dingy, dark and had a dirty drain odour. We had been given a smaller room with an outdoor jacuzzi, again not what we paid for. We returned to the reception and raised our concern. We got stuck with the two teenagers of the operation where we were told we were “wrong” and we “booked room number 1” but you don’t book numbers when you reserve a room you book a specific suite. After arguing back that our booking said INDOOR hot tub not outdoor jacuzzi, they told us that the room we booked doesn’t exist so we then asked why it was advertised for people to book on the website then? They started talking to one another in Greek infront of us and then said “sorry there is nothing we can do we are fully booked”. To make matters worse, the room that we actually booked was under us and after them telling us it doesn’t exist, they had multiple guest stay in it during our time. They told us to contact our travel agent because they’ve done nothing wrong. Mind you the room we had been given didn’t even have. Table for us to eat our food on. After contacting our travel agent and them contacting the facility, the second last day of our stay they came to our door with a small bottle of wine and two glasses and said it was a gift for the “confusion with the room” we declined as we’d rather have the money difference for the room. They told our travel agent that they actually upgraded us but failed to tell us that, they told us it was the room that we booked.. I’m only giving 1 star because the gentlemen that brang the breakfast everyday was very kind and accommodating and the lovely lady that cleaned our room was very polite and respectful with our belongings. I would of rather stayed at an ibis budget at this point, it might not have the views of the caldera but atleast the shower would be mould free and I could have the windows open without people walking past being able to see in.   Rooms with the BEST SUNSET VIEW

  Great location. A beautiful view of the caldera. We booked a Junior suite with a jacuzzi. The hotel staff was very friendly an very accommodating. Yoga, Erisa were wonderful at the reception and very kind and helpful. George and David did all the running up and down the hill with luggage and breakfast etc Very good service provided by them I only wish we were able to call the reception or then pool bar from our room. We didnt have a Greek phone chip and so had to climb up to reception for any enquiries or call the hotel’s direct phone number. That was very inconvenient.Unlike Oia it is less busy and the suites are very private. Imerovigli is very centrally located. Good choice to stay here.The room is comfortable, air conditioned and spacious. Breakfast is pre-ordered and brought to your room so you can enjoy the view of the caldera in the soft warmth of the morning sun. In the afternoon when the sun is overhead you could still enjoy the jacuzzi with the grandest view of the caldera. There are loads of restaurants around the area or you could rent a car and explore the entire island.
