  Proud Phuket hotel Naiyang

  Verry nice modern hotel in Naiyang. 400 meter from the beach. We stayed in a superior room with direct poolacces, wich is lovely. There is also a public pool with sunbeds and poolbar. Use off free beachtowels, free bicyclerent. Good breakfastsbuffet. Superfriendly and helpfull staff.   Perfect location to the airport, for first few or last few nights. Hotel is beautiful, lots of greenery and nice small pool area. Of all the hotels I stayed in, proud asked for the highest deposit, and the list of the value of each item in the room was one way to put you on edge on holiday. I’m a solo traveller in my 40’s and have never experienced that level of pressure on any damage to anything within a hotel room. Location was ideal to ease yourself into Thai life, few shops food vendors massage shops and restaurants along the beach and 5-10 minutes from the airport. I only ate fruit and pastries at the breakfast buffet so can’t comment on the rest but there was enough available. The shower was lovely and powerful. My second stay I was given an a room that could be interconnected, I didn’t like that as much as felt like you was in the room with next door as there is a gap under the door so could hear a lot. The hotel is quite noisy as on a main road.   We arrived at the hotel after a flight cancellation. At the reception, we clearly stated our family composition: 2 adults and 4 children (including two teenagers considered adults by age). We were quoted 6,200 THB for two rooms including breakfast.Only after we paid and the transaction was completed, the manager arrived, spoke in Thai to the receptionist, and suddenly demanded an extra 1,500 THB for the children—despite us being fully transparent about their ages from the start.It didn't end there:Extortion & Rudeness: They blocked our entry to the breakfast we had already paid for!Basic Needs Refused: When we asked for an extra blanket—a basic right for any guest—they refused, claiming we "hadn't paid for the children." This is blatant lying and greed.Poor Maintenance: The cleanliness level was very low.The name "Proud" is a joke—this hotel is characterized by arrogance and greed, not pride. Zero customer service. Do yourself a favor and find a place that actually respects its guests. Transparency of Family Composition & Pricing:You approached our reception as a walk-in guest following a flight cancellation. Our team was fully aware of your family of 7 (2 Adults and 4 Children aged 9, 10, 13, and 14). We initially offered two rooms at 3,100 THB per room. However, according to international hotel standards and our specific policy, a family of your size significantly exceeds the maximum occupancy for two standard rooms.2. The Choice You Made Regarding Breakfast:We offered you two clear options to accommodate your extra guests:- Option A: Pay a heavily discounted extra person fee of 1,500 THB for 3 children (only 500 THB per person, reduced from the standard 1,200 THB) including breakfast.- Option B: Pay only for the two rooms (6,200 THB) excluding breakfast.You explicitly chose Option B. It is therefore highly misleading to claim you were "blocked" from a service you categorically refused to pay for. Demanding services without payment is not a "basic right," but a breach of the agreed-upon contract.3. Refusal of Extra Amenities:Regarding the request for extra blankets: Our policy stipulates that extra bedding and amenities are provided for guests who are registered under an "Extra Person" or "Extra Bed" rate. Since you declined the extra person fee and opted for the base room rate only, we could not provide additional setup for the unregistered occupants. This is a standard operational procedure, not "greed."4. Maintenance & Comparisons:We take pride in our "Boutique Oasis" concept and our maintenance team works tirelessly to uphold our standards. While you mentioned a nearby property, we remain confident in the unique value and hospitality that Proud Phuket provides to thousands of satisfied guests annually.Legal Notice Regarding Defamation & False Information:Finally, we must address the nature of your allegations.   Very mediocre hotel close to airport and beach. Cool outdoor market next door. Hard beds and rooms need maintenance. Restaurant is fine but nothing to write home about.   Clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff near airport. Bit short of staff sometimes, especially at pool bar and housekeeping during busy times. Not far to main part of Naiyang beach and could always get 100 baht Tutut. Road that hotel is in is next to large building site and the street is bit run down.
