Location

Situated on the traditional path from Fira to Firostefani, the villa is nestled at the top of the caldera cliff, in the heart of the island's capital, yet secluded from the crowds or visitors. It offers a panoramic view of the sea and the volcano as well as the famous sunset. It is a few metres away from the old Dominican convent and 6 km from Santorini's international airport and Athinios port.

Facility

The apartment hotel has 7 rooms. Multilingual staff are happy to assist and advise. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge. Further services include a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is among the standard features of some rooms. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. For self-catering guests, there is a well-equipped kitchenette with a stovetop, microwave, tea/coffee station and oven. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a stereo system, a DVD player and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. A hairdryer and bathrobes are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

The outdoor pool complex provides invigorating refreshment. A sun terrace is a great place to while away the hours. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. Leisure activities and facilities at the hotel include a spa or, for a fee, massage treatments. Parents can unwind while the kids can participate in an entertainment programme full of fun activities.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a dining room and a bar. A delicious breakfast provides energy for the rest of the day.

    I had the most incredible stay at Lava Suites in Santorini! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome — they were warm, attentive, and always happy to help with anything I needed. The suite itself was stunning, with breathtaking views over the caldera that I could never get tired of. Waking up to that scenery every morning felt like a dream.The breakfast was another highlight — fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, the perfect way to start each day. Whether I was relaxing on the terrace or exploring the island, it always felt like I had a luxurious retreat to come back to.Everything about Lava Suites exceeded my expectations. The combination of comfort, views, amazing food, and outstanding hospitality made this one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santorini!

    Breakfast with the most magical view

    We adored our time staying here! Travelling for 6 weeks (and with a toddler) our breakfast with that incredible view was honestly a standout of our entire journey! Nicholas and his colleagues were wonderful and we thank them for making our stay on Santorini magical.

    Lava Suites is perfectly situated in Fira, out of the Centre but very close to it. The hotel itself although a little run down has great views from the communal area (and one of the suites) but has fantastic staff that make the stay very pleasant.

    We booked this hotel because of it's amazing location on the caldera, we had the most stunning views at breakfast and all the restaurants we wanted to go to were walking distance. The rooms are very basic and the ones on the ground floor are a quite dark as not much light gets in, it felt like being in a cave (could be the experience they were going for). Breakfast was good and made fresh every morning. You could eat at the tables outside or have it delivered to your room, this was a nice touch. We had read great reviews about the service at Lava Suites, but unfortunately we did not experience any of this and it left us wondering if the owners had changed. We never met the owner/manager. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a staff member who kept repeating that he was new and was unable to answer many of our questions. The staff were hardly ever onsite, and were not very helpful when we messaged via whatsapp. We had a few issues and asked to speak to the manager to address some of our concerns but they did not feel inclined to make the effort to come and speak to us. Overall, it could have been a much better experience if the staff put in a little more effort upon noticing we were experiencing some issues and were not entirely satisfied.

    We had a very spacious room with a terrace and a astonishing view. The receptionist and waitress are very friendly and helpful. In my opinion there are missing a lot of details like a little bit of shade. Everything is done a bit loveless, which is a pity.My kids had another room, which didn't correspond with the images on the website. That was very unfortunate!Overall I'd rate this place only average.
