Good value for Bryce Canyon visit

    rating13 Apr 2026

Great value compared to other options for our trip to Bryce Canyon. Spent two nights there. Convenient to walk to the Bryce Canyon shuttle stop which we highly recommend. General store, liquor wine and beer sales, souvenirs, and restaurants also across the street. Average hotel type breakfast was ok. Room was small and clean. Two stories with no elevator. Laundromat across the street was inadequate for the number of guests trying to wash, when we were there. Overall we were happy with the accomodations and the price! Location is everything

Perfect place to stay on your trip to Bryce Canyon. Ok, there are better places, but this place is in walking distance to everything at the Park entrance. The rooms PSA are ready for an upgrade, but location is everything. They provide everything in the rooms. You get access to indoor swimming pools and workout facilities. We were pleased with our stay. Good Stay Overall, Disappointing Management Experience

    rating31 Mar 2026

I recently stayed at this property, located across from Best Western Plus Ruby’s Inn and about five minutes from the park entrance. Location is very good. You can just go in and out of the park. To start with the positives, the room itself was clean, spacious, and functional. It has a more classic motel-style setup, but it includes a microwave and fridge, which was convenient. The bathroom was also clean, and the shower pressure was good. They provided toiletries. However, there were a few notable differences compared to what I expected. I had intended to book Ruby’s Inn, where I’ve stayed multiple times before. Highly recommend this property and almost the same price as the lodge. At Ruby’s Inn, breakfast is typically a full buffet at Cowboy’s Buffet & Steak Room, whereas this property only offers a basic continental breakfast. The options were limited to bread, spreads, yogurt, and cereals/oats, with no hot items and not even hot chocolate available. It was acceptable, but not comparable to what I’m used to. Staff are very nice. The main issue, however, was my experience with the manager/supervisor regarding a billing problem.I had prepaid for my stay through Capital One Travel, which I have used for a long time without issues. Upon arrival, staff were initially able to locate my reservation, but the room was not ready, so I was asked to wait for about an hour. When I returned, a different staff member can still locate my reservation and I was told the room was still unavailable. She offered a different room, I was delighted and thankful. To avoid further delay, I agreed to take a different room. I was asked for my credit card, which I assumed was for incidental charges. Later, I realized I had been charged again for the stay.I contacted the front desk immediately and explained that I had already prepaid. The issue was escalated to the manager/supervisor. During that conversation, I was told that my reservation could not be found and that their policy is “pay at the property.” Very firmly and I was instructed to contact Capital One Travel myself.I then called Capital One Travel, who confirmed my reservation and provided the correct reservation number. After calling the hotel multiple times and speaking with several staff members, I was finally able to reach the manager again. At that point, he stated that Capital One was “lying” and claimed they had not contacted him.Throughout this process, I felt that the responsibility to resolve the issue was placed entirely on me as the guest, rather than being handled internally by the property. I even offered to email my confirmation details to assist, but this was met with resistance. He kept insisting regarding their policy. Eventually, after Capital One Travel directly contacted the property and merchant, the manager acknowledged that while he could not locate the reservation, he did find the payment and agreed to reverse the duplicate charge.I spent nearly two hours on the phone trying to resolve an issue that was not my fault, during a very limited visit to Bryce Canyon where time is extremely valuable. We had driven several hours from Las Vegas and were already exhausted, yet I was still blamed for not booking directly through their site. This was emphasized by the manager. This significantly impacted my experience, as we only had one opportunity to enjoy the sunset and do our planned sunset run to the viewpoints. While I appreciate that the charge is being reversed, the way this situation was handled was extremely disappointing. Additionally, the manager’s communication style lacked professionalism and basic de-escalation. There was no apology offered at any point. Instead, I was told that “next time you should book directly,” which felt dismissive and inappropriate given the situation. I have been a long-time customer of Capital One Travel and have never encountered an issue like this before.Overall, while the property itself was acceptable, the handling of this situation by the manager/supervisor fell well below expected hospitality standards. I strongly recommend additional training in customer service and conflict resolution to prevent similar experiences for future guests. Lance Syrett, Owner at Bryce View Lodge, responded to this review Hi Maxenecerezo,Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay. We truly appreciate your thoughtful comments and the opportunity to address your experience. We’re very glad to hear that you found the room clean, spacious, and comfortable, and that you enjoyed our convenient location near Bryce Canyon. We also appreciate your kind remarks about our staff. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the breakfast offering and any expectations that were not met. We understand how this comparison impacted your experience, especially given your familiarity with nearby properties. Most importantly, we want to sincerely apologize for the billing issue and the experience you had while trying to resolve it. What you described is not the level of service or communication we expect from our team, and we are very sorry for the frustration, time, and inconvenience this caused—especially during what should have been a relaxing visit. We understand how valuable your time is while visiting Bryce Canyon, and we regret that you had to spend so much of it resolving an issue that should have been handled more efficiently on our end. Your feedback regarding how the situation was communicated and managed is being taken very seriously and will be addressed internally with our team.We are glad the duplicate charge has been resolved, but we fully recognize that this does not make up for the experience you had. Your comments are extremely valuable and will help guide improvements in both our processes and guest communication moving forward.Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future.
