    Great value, incredible view

    rating07 Jan 2020

We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay in the family suite. Some things that you should be aware of so that you are prepared...this is not a typical hotel. You will check in at the bus terminal (Tia was very friendly and helpful). You may not be able to get to your room immediately as they have one person to assist with bags so you may have to wait for him to be available (Marius was also incredibly helpful). Pack lightly, if possible, because there are many stairs and access to your room will involve quite a bit of maneuvering. The room is spacious and clean, but the kitchen is not well equipped. You will need to eat your meals out or bring some provisions back with you. Two small improvements that I would recommend to the owners: privacy curtains or shutters for the master suite and a kettle & coffee maker. Overall it was a really nice stay.

    Value for Money

    rating03 Jan 2020

I booked through their website where there's complimentary transfer from any Santorini Port to their check-in place (near the bus stop). Our driver was George who also provided us details of Greek culture, and never tired of answering all our questions, since he was also our driver when we booked transportation for going to Fira the next day (we took the bus back), and to drive us to the airport upon check-out. You have to go down a series of steps from the main road to the apartment, and since we were a family with 3 luggages & they only had 1 porter, we helped with bringing down (and then up when we were leaving) the heavy luggages. All efforts were well worth it for the breathtaking (literally and figuratively) view from the "cave room", its cleanliness and minimalist furniture (loved the effect of the lights under the bed). Since it was also winter and nothing much to do once the sun set, the beds were soft and comfortable to sleep on. The hot water thermos was not working when we arrived, we reported this to the lady at the check-in counter and it was promptly replaced. Loved the place, would book it again if we return and would recommend it if you are able to go up and down a series of steps to your apartment (and able to carry your stuff).

    Horrible plus some highlights

    rating24 Dec 2019

I'll start with the best parts. The View is amazing. Waking to that beauty is unmatchable. The cab driver who brought us there was amazing and amazingly nice. The restaurant next door to check in, run by the amazing Natalia Brahina. Just watching her cook was amazing. Its the Little things that can make or break a trip. Onto the stupid. Checking was a nightmare. We got in and was told because of of a tour in 1 hour we would get into the room easily because someone will be there when we get back. Upon our return the person at the check was our cab driver and not the manager. We had to wait for him for an hour before he returned. It started raining and he walked us over. He proceeded to walk through the maze of the place and left me behind. There are no real lights on the path. I did not see where they went. I went back to the office. Upon the return of the manager he came back by himself and told me he lost my husband who went looking for me. My husband called after a while telling me he was lost and didn't know where he was. I had to guide him back to the office. The manager said ho could do nothing. Then when reunited took us on a precarious jaunt through slippery cobblestoned paths under the rain. Again walking l=without looking back. It's really taking your life in your hands. Had I been aware of the angle and the danger of the steps I would have never booked this trip. Yes I am a fat man but was able to do the walk and go VERY CAREFULLY DOWN THE STAIRS. Not for the light hearted. The room was beautiful and did not dare to leave till there was light in the morning. There was a restaurant on top of the area we were at that had the best Bolognese . Lotza was the name. It's a not to miss. We only stayed one night. Again great view, but the steepness of the steps needs to be mentioned. Horrible uncaring manager. I don't know what his problem was but we will never come back to the property.

    Extended Day Trip

    rating22 Dec 2019

Came to Santorini for extended day trip. Have to stay overnight as the flights are 1 in and 1 out each day. Room is basic but nice. Came really wrong time. Most of the island seems to sleep during this time period. Xmas through new years. People are nice. Warm. Many transplants. Our tour guide of the island is German and an archeologist working here for the money. Getting to room is at least 5 minute walk up and down stairs, down narrow lanes. It is a maze... There is free wifi, small fridge and tv for local viewing, air conditioning and comfortable bed. The immediate area has some shopping and food. You will want to bring eats back with with to room after check in as there is nothing like room service. You sleep and shower. That's it. Ok for 1 day but longer.

Hotel at best location in Oia with average facilities

    rating07 Oct 2019

This hotel is located at best place in oia where you get best views of sunrise and sunset. If you are staying here you dont need to visit here and there for views. Very near to blue domed church and center. There is no hotel staff or reception except at time of checkin. Porter service is there to help with luggage. Pantry is there that opens only in morning. For checkin just follow instructions they provide. At bus stop there is tourist information center where checkin happens and from there you will get porter also. Rooms are average with bathrooms very small and smell like gutter. Our rooms were right in front where they had two water tubs.
