  Stopped totally per chance on a day trip to Getxo - was tempted by the menu in the window! Wow wow wow - Fabulous Menu del día. Wonderful food, cooked beuautifully, excellent service and sumptuous and beautiful surroundings. All for €30 per person. Fantastic.

  Romantic, clean, and oh so beautiful

  We stayed here for three nights in Mid September and our stay was wonderful. We opted to book a suite and we were so glad we did. Room 10 was spacious and filled with light. It’s also the only room in the whole hotel that has a balcony that can fit chairs and overlooks the sea. Gorgeous! We are at the restaurant the first night here and it was fantastic. The best octopus we have had in Spain this trip. The hotel is close enough to walk to town, but also tucked away enough to feel out of the chaos. Would totally recommend this place for a romantic stay.

  Perfect lunch

  Just strolling by, we found this restaurant adjacent to the hotel at the beach promenade in Getxo. We had a super lunch in a very nice setting and were hosted by great staff. The Menu of the day was a great choice and very much worth its price. Just terrific!

  Excellent hotel, quiet area

  If you want to experience a wealthy, quiet part of Bilbao near the beaches, this is the place to stay. The convenient subway is near to go both to the city or to a beach. You can also walk to a fairly busy beach nearby. The hotel has four bicycles if you want to experience the coastline. We liked this hotel among the huge villas a lot.

  Good location in a historic building

  We stayed three nights at the Embarcadero. The junior suite (room 10) we had overlooked the harbour and was a good size. There are no UK or English TV channels. Parking is in the underground garage, try the lower floor if busy as its a bit tight in places. Breakfast is on the modest side for a four star hotel but pintxos type options are availble as extras to the buffet breakfast.The staff were excelent all through the hotel with most having good English, in case one's Basque is a bit rusty. The bar is lively and popular with locals and is recommended, there being no nearby places. The bar menu is fine for a light meal or pintxos and there is a small, slightly more formal restaurant, but the same food can be ordered in the bar on request. The hotel is located off the road so is quiet, the soundproofing of the rooms is modest, some plumbing sounds can be heard through wall or ceiling, as this is a converted large old property.
