Location

The suites are in Kamali, one of the most beautiful coastal villages in Santorini, on the eastern side of the island. Kamari is 8 km from Fira, the capital of the island, and can be reached by public transport. Guests will find shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife in the immediate vicinity, and the beach is a 2-minute walk. Panagia Episkopi is approximately a 5-minute drive and the airport is 4 km away.

Facility

25 non-smoking rooms are available to guests in a 2-storey main building and 5 auxiliary buildings. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. A baggage storage service and a safe are available. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities and a lift. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library. Rooms

    Arrived at this hotel late evening and was greeted by the manager. We were offered a welcome drink before she took our luggage to our room.This is a lovely place to stay just set back from the beachfront and perfect for a relaxing quiet holiday. The staff work constantly throughout the day to maintain cleanliness throughout the hotel, daily room cleaning and everyone is super friendly and polite. Breakfast is self serve from 08:00 - 11:00 with a good choice and some of the hot/cold items are different each day. There is something for everyone’s taste. The coffee machine has a good selection and there are also different flavours of tea. Nothing is too much for staff and if you want eggs cooked a certain way they are on hand to do it.The bar provides drinks and snacks served poolside or to your room if requested.Towels are available for use either at the poolside or you can take them to the beach.There is a gym downstairs a sauna room, indoor pool plus showers and toilets.Checkout is 11:00 but if you have an afternoon/evening flight they will store your luggage and you can use the facilities of the hotel until you leave.If you prefer the beach to the pool, turn left outside the hotel entrance and walk to the bottom of the road (5minute leisurely stroll) and you’re at the beach. On your way down the road there are several restaurants (Black Stone is family run and definitely worth a visit just to watch Adi, the son, who is hilarious and kept everyone entertained).There is also a lovely bakery (Cretan) that does a great tuna, egg or cedar salad for €6.50 and latte (€2.60). The cakes and bread are amazing!!.We tried a different restaurant each evening. Prince, Cafe Dolce, Zorba, Gia Mas (have chat with Thomas), Vinsanto (the most amazingly cooked sea bass recommended by Omiros) and none disappointed.There is a bus stop across from the hotel to go and explore the island. All buses go directly to Fira where you take a connecting bus to everywhere else on the island. Fira itself is beautiful and worth visiting. We usually took the 09:30 bus to Fira, it takes about 20 minutes (€2.40). Be mindful the cruise ships arrive in the mornings so places can get pretty busy as we found when we visited Oia.To sum up, this is not a modern hotel, I would imagine it was built many years ago but we loved its quirkiness and the staff work hard to keep it so clean. While it might not look like a 5 star hotel, the service definitely was and it’s a great place to stay.If you go to Santorini, Kamari is beautiful and all the people are so friendly plus this hotel will not disappoint.

    Just back from a very relaxing week staying at the Tamarix del Mar Suites. Hotel is wonderful, the staff are incredibly helpful and the whole place is spotless. The breakfast is super and is varied each day. Very sad to come home after such a brilliant week.

    Our stay at Tamarix del Mar Suites was nothing short of being exceptional. Starting the time we stepped in the hotel, we had excellent service. We came to hotel bit earlier than our check in time and the hotel staff member Zenia was very helpful and took care of our luggage. When we got checked in, we realized the room that we thought we booked was different than the room we were assigned which was very beautiful but not suitable for our family of three. We contacted Zenia and she got her colleague Gerald involved who managed to get us a wonderful two level room. Koustantina and Raju were excellent helping us with the luggage and food services. The overall experience with the hotel staff was very pleasant. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful with sufficient variety. We found help in booking transfer and recommendation on restaurants. The hotel overall is great with many amenities as described as well as beautiful surroundings. Also, the location is very close to many restaurants and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will highly recommend anyone to book their stay at Tamarix while in Santorini.

    I visited this hotel a few years ago and have been wanting to return for some time as we had amazing stay. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, the staff are super helpful and friendly. The place is immaculately clean and in a gorgeous setting. Breakfast is amazing, so much choice, freshly cooked and attention to detail is spot on! This hotel is a hidden gem! Thank you again for a fantastic stay!

    Friendly staff, clean well run, informative staff, quiet location, easy walk to the beach, market near by has all you need in a well equipped suite with well equipped kitchen. Good value for money
