We chose Imerovigli as the place to stay in Santorini, over Oia and Fira and zeroed in on Vista Mare suites, after reading a lot of reviews on tripadvisor. Glad we made that choice. Vista Mare is located at Gali square, the central point of Imerovigli. A few steps down from there takes you to the place. The view from our room was fantastic. It was a nice experience having breakfast sitting in the balcony, watching the caldera, the volcano and the boats on the sea. The room was clean and comfortable. Service was great with George there to take care of all our needs. There are nice restaurants nearby where you can have candle light dinner in the open. The bus stop is a short walk away from where buses connect to main points like Oia, Fira and Perivolos beach.

We stayed at Vista Mare on a 7 day holiday. The views on the terras at breakfast every morning were spectacular. George does his best to make all guests really happy. Breakfast is nice but the selection every morning was a bit limited. We started brewing our own coffee after a few days since we like really hot coffee in the morning. Location is good if you want to go to Thira .. its a 15 min (downhill) walk away, although a busstop is also nearby.

We visit santorini and book different hotel but last minute they cancelled our reservation. So last minute we Book VISTA mare suits !!!!!! It’s amazing please highly recommend view amazing!!! All staff so friendly and helpful I would Definitely rate this suite is 5 star !!!!!! Thanks vista mare for our amazing experience!!!!!

Santorini was the first stop on our honeymoon, and Vista Mare was the perfect spot! We had a suite with a large patio area and view of the water, which was especially nice for breakfast every morning. George was a phenomenal host and made us feel very welcome right from the start. We were walking distance from many great restaurants too.

Overpriced and scruffy

The whole of Santorini is much hyped and over-priced. This hotel must rank very high in poor value and excessive hype about caldera view. Yes, our room had a nice balcony with good views, but the room itself was so cramped and dinghy, the bathroom was claustrophically small and so dark, the bathrub measured all of 4 ft in length !! Not a fan of cave rooms, if that's what these expensive rooms represent - at 250 Eu per nt, its all a joke. The whole of Imerogvili and Oia, with their cliffside, claustrophobic rooms and balconies overlooked by neighbouring balconies on all sides ( no such thing as privacy in these hotels - there are just hundreds of them, each next to the other !!) - is worth avoiding, in favour of a quiet place a little away from these overcrowded spots.In particular, Vista Mate was a total disappointment - we felt we were slumming it all the 4 days we were there - cost us over a 1000 Eu for 4 nts - there are so many nicer, less-hyped , beautiful places one can go to, & not feel one was getting ripped off all the time.
