  Beautiful Resort and Beaches, Let Down by Restaurant Service

  We recently stayed at the ELIVI Skiathos and overall had a really enjoyable holiday, although there are definitely some areas where the hotel could improve — particularly considering the price point and star rating.The setting itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, very well maintained, and spotlessly clean throughout. The beaches are stunning with soft sand and a gentle slope into the sea, which makes them ideal for families and children. The beach beds are very comfortable and free for guests, and you can collect fresh towels directly from the beach bar which is a really nice touch.We stayed in the Nest area. The rooms were lovely — spacious, quiet, modern and very clean — and the evening turndown service each day was appreciated. Breakfast in the Nest area was very good with plenty of choice including hot food, continental options, pastries, cereals and freshly made omelettes cooked to order.One thing the hotel does exceptionally well is transport around the resort. The golf buggy service is brilliant — available throughout the day and very easy to request via WhatsApp or the Elivi app. They arrive quickly and make getting around effortless, especially as the resort is quite spread out.In terms of layout, the Grace area feels slightly more convenient location-wise, but it is more densely packed. The Nest area feels much more spacious and relaxed.Unfortunately, the main thing that lets the hotel down quite badly is the food and restaurant service.The food itself was generally decent, but nowhere near the standard you might expect for the prices being charged. Room service was especially disappointing — limited menu choices, nearly a two-hour wait, food arriving cold, and expensive for what was provided. For example, we paid around €35 for a steak that arrived cold and came completely on its own without sides.Restaurant service was consistently inattentive during our stay. One evening at the Nest restaurant we waited around 45 minutes just to receive menus, despite asking staff several times. Drinks orders were incorrect and took a long time to fix, and the food service was extremely slow with parts of the table receiving meals almost 30 minutes apart. Considering the restaurant prices, the level of service simply wasn’t acceptable.That said, we would still return to the hotel because the resort itself really is stunning and the daytime experience is excellent. Our advice would simply be to enjoy the facilities, beaches and atmosphere during the day, but head out locally for food in the evenings. There are plenty of fantastic tavernas nearby and along the local €3 bus route offering much better value and service. There’s also a supermarket just outside the main gate which is handy for drinks and snacks — especially when beach bar prices are quite high.If Elivi improved the consistency of its catering and restaurant service, it would easily become one of the best resort experiences in Skiathos. The setting and facilities are already there — the food and hospitality side just need to catch up.

  Beautiful stunning location and great hotel but service lets it down

  We have just enjoyed a beautiful week in skiathos at Elivi. The setting is stunning, the resort has an amazing aray of pools and beaches which are all beautiful and feel really special, our room was lovely and we had a private pool which was so nice and the breakfast was really good. There are really nice touches like the buggies and towels provided on the beaches. A couple of key things let it down including the service. All the restaurants seemed to struggle, took a while to take our order, some food and drinks didn’t arrive without reminders and the nest, where the food was great, took absolutely hours. The beach bar on koukounaries seem to have plenty of staff but 2 of them were standing around refusing to take orders. People walked out when we were there because they couldn’t get served. Alongside this the food is expensive, I would have loved to be able to get more traditional Greek food for both lunch and dinner. We ended up eating outside of the resort quite a few times for these reasons. This didn’t detract from a lovely holiday and we would definitely return, but for the price it’s definitely a sticking point! Another suggestion would be to make the kids club better, it seems like an afterthought downstairs in the seminar room and both times our kids went there were no other kids there. Give it its own dedicated space with an outdoor play area and it would be great, the lady who runs It is so nice and friendly and the kids loved her, just a shame it’s not better!

  We’ve been coming here since the resort was built and I still consider it the best in Greece. The location is unbeatable and the views and beaches breathtaking.The staff is kind and helpful, Christi, Angela, the GM Iosif and all the buggy drivers and waiters have made our stay truly enjoyable and we are very grateful to them all

  A nice experience overall

  Traveled in Greece for a month and, after visiting Thessaloniki and Skopelos, I decided to visit Skiathos as well.Such a beautiful island.The hotel is located in a peaceful and beautiful part of the island, surrounded by so much greenery and amazing beaches. Although there are a few small disadvantages that could be improved, they were definitely not important enough to ruin our experience.The hotel restaurants and beach bars were very nice, and I absolutely loved the Greek cuisine. The spa was also a very good experience. The therapist,Astolia if I remember correctly,very good at her job,she gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had and I’ve had many before.I really hope to come back soon some time

  Another great stay.

  This was our second time staying at Elivi. This time we came with our six month old baby and we stayed in one of the apartment rooms with a pool. The room was perfect for what we needed and the hotel were very accommodating, they gave us a baby bath and a cot in the room. There was also plenty of high chairs at breakfast.The hotel staff are really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The beach is also incredible, this is one of our favourite parts about this hotel and will be returning because of it. It is perfect especially with young families. The only thing that was a little bit disappointing was that because we went in May, not everything was open. One of the restaurants that we had been to previously and one of the breakfast areas, wasn’t open as it had been on our previous visit. While we understand why they weren’t open due to the capacity of the hotel, it wasn’t communicated to us prior to our stay. Luckily, the breakfast did open two days after we arrived, but we didn’t get to visit the restaurant that we really enjoyed in our previous trip. Had we known in advance, we might have gone a week later. This must be communicated by the hotel going forward.
