    Lovely holiday with friends

    rating05 Oct 2025

We chose this hotel with the reviews in mind and on the whole it was a pleasant stay. The hotel is set in lovely grounds with several accommodation buildings, the pool and its surroundings was also lovely. We had a standard room with garden view which had everything we needed, spotlessly cleaned every day by the same cleaner (sorry don’t know name but we stayed in 605) but like to give her a 5* rating excellent service regularly change of towels and bedding changed twice in the period, very friendly without speaking much English but we could understand each other anyway with a laugh and a smile. We found the reception area and staff to be very welcoming. The bar and seating area for breakfast was set up well plenty of space to eat in or out - weather permitting! The breakfast had plenty of choice yes it was repetitive and it would have been nice to have a change in some hot choices eg mushrooms or something else, however we chose what we liked best and stuck to same every day for that reason, particularly enjoyed the Greek yogurt with the various selection of nuts, seeds, dried and fresh fruits. The only negative is we didn’t find the staff to be as friendly, welcoming or as efficient in this area of the hotel with exception of bar man who did do a good job. Some mornings had to ask for cups, cutlery, plates, hot water, tea bag’s, and although they were probably stocked at the start of the service the staff weren’t efficient in checking it and often just chatting together at the bar. The 4 rating given is a reflection of this otherwise it would have been a 5/5. Hotel is short walk to beach, bars, restaurants and supermarkets so in a good location.

    Perfect

    rating20 Sept 2025

Just back from 2 perfect weeks in this lovely hotel. The room itself is probably the best we have stayed in in Greece, very clean and quite big. The balconies are more enclosed furnished terraces, really roomy and private and come with a clothes airer. The gardens are kept immaculate and even though they are coming toward end of season there are staff constantly gardening and cleaning.Breakfast was lovely, normal for Greece as in pastries, greek yoghurt, cold meats etc and is open 8am- 11am.The pool area was wonderful, no sunbed wars, always beds available at any time of the day and no towels left on beds, reception supply pool towels every day fresh and for a small fee will supply beach towels as well.Had a few meals at the hotel and found the food to be lovely and priced very reasonably, staff are friendly and attentive as well. We did the Mamma Mia movie night at the hotel which was nice and chilled out, we saw the rock/ jazz night but can't comment on the Greek night as we had gone out. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here and my husband had asked them to order some flowers for me which they went out of their way to do and also done some lovely swans with the towels on the bed which was a lovely touch. Be aware if you're booking Skiathos some hotels have incredibly steep drives/steps to get up to the hotels but Mandraki if pretty flat and has low rise buildings so if your mobility is not good it's ideal and there are ramps that are perfect for wheelchairs. There are a few restaurants and little tavernas along the main road along with 2 supermarkets within walking distance. The restaurants prices are all much the same, we were paying on average 60 euro for 2 courses, sometimes a pudding and drinks. It's a flatish walk to the gorgeous Koukounaries beach if you turn right and takes about 20 mins, turn left and cross the road and it's at the bottom of a small hill or, there are a few little paths around the lake that will get you there as well. There are some nice beach bars, not too pricey but we noticed sunbeds were 30euro for 2 and a parasol and a lot of the beds did look filthy, there were families buying beach chairs and parasols at the supermarkets and you can always take a towel and just lie on the sand. The bus service is frequent and cheap to get you to other beaches or into Skiathos town as well and runs way into the early hours, top tip if you're coming home from town is to walk to bus stop 0 by the harbour as we noticed a lot of people go to the top of the shopping street on bus stop 4 to go home and it can be rammed by the the time the bus gets there. In all we have done 8 Greek Islands and Skiathos is our favourite so far, very laid back and quiet and very safe for lone travellers, think we saw more here than we've seen anywhere we've been. We'll definitely go back to this beautiful little island and would 100% book Mandraki again.

    Quiet and relaxing

    rating13 Sept 2025

This hotel is set in beautifully kept garden with 5 seperate buildings with 6 rooms in each with a central pool, reception, bar, restaurant area. All very clean and well looked after. The staff are all very friendly and really made you feel at home. Breakfast ran to 11 and it was all very relaxed...No one rushed for sun beds, no one put towels down early there were always many free all day.The beach is an 8 minute walk...and is probably the best on the island. Whilst the food in the hotel is lovely (Greek bbq night is a must) there are a number of lovely tavernas within a 5 minute walk away and the staff will happily recommend their favourites. The bus into Skiathos town is 3euros each way and runs every 10 mins or so until 1am which makes it very convenient. All in all if you want a quiet relax in lovely surroundings this is for you!

    Not great

    rating06 Sept 2025

Stayed in resort & decided to try as always looked busy despite another family saying they had a bad experience.Be aware they give you dry bread & a couple of olives which we thought were complimentary but they are not & ended up on the bill. Not had that in any other restaurant on this holiday but waiter informed me it was normal. Paid for it but decided not to tip & balanced out.Food very average & not impressed.Wouldn’t recommend, so many better restaurants further down which were excellent.
