The Hotel Victoria is charming with a wonderful location.

    rating15 Nov 2025

When we arrived in Budapest we originally stayed at a centrally located hotel. Unfortunately, it was not easily walkable to historic sites and the view from that hotel was nothing to write home about. We looked for a different hotel and found the Victoria. What an excellent find. Just a fabulous location. The views of the Danube River are amazing. Additionally easy walking distance to many sights in Budapest. The rooms are spotless. It is also walking distance to various restaurants. My husband and I so enjoyed our stay at his hotel.

    Incredible Views

    rating28 Aug 2025

The views from this hotel are outstanding and the service was great. When we checked in, the front desk helped us with last minute reservations at a lovely local restaurant. The shower was hot and powerful and the bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Air conditioning was powerful. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options including eggs/omelets made to order and a cappuccino machine. What really made it special was the staff who spoke many languages and provided service with a smile. You really cannot go wrong with this hotel. Wow – what an incredible stay!

    rating06 Aug 2025

I don’t usually write reviews, but Hotel Victoria truly deserves one. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a top-floor room (8th floor), and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The panoramic view of the Danube River was absolutely breathtaking — Parliament, the Chain Bridge, and the stunning city skyline all perfectly in sight. Waking up to that view each morning was magical. This boutique hotel is ideal if you’re after something peaceful and not overcrowded. Even though we were told the hotel was fully booked, it never felt busy. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed was HUGE and incredibly comfy — one of the best hotel beds I’ve slept in.The staff were fantastic. Every receptionist we met was friendly, polite, and incredibly helpful — whether it was booking taxis, offering recommendations, or just a warm smile when coming and going. Housekeeping came daily to tidy and clean, and there’s an option to request a bedding change.Breakfast was pleasant, with a variety of choices and the option to order hot food fresh. While the hotel doesn’t offer lunch or dinner service, this wasn’t an issue for us as we were out exploring most of the day — and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A little tip: the restaurant right next door was a hidden gem! Delicious food and the homemade lemonade was a must-try.One small note: bottled water in the room is €3 if you drink it, but we didn’t mind and just appreciated the convenience.Overall, our stay was exceptional. If you're visiting Budapest and want stunning views, a peaceful atmosphere, and outstanding service, Hotel Victoria is the place to be! ZOLTAN PALMAI, General Manager at Boutique Hotel Victoria Budapest, responded to this review Dear shelbit2016,Thank you for taking the time to share such an enthusiastic and detailed review of your recent stay with us.We are truly delighted to learn that your experience exceeded expectations, especially the enjoyment you found in the spectacular panoramic views from the eighth floor overlooking the Danube, Parliament, and Chain Bridge. It is wonderful to hear that waking up to those vistas added a special touch to your mornings.Your feedback about the peaceful atmosphere and spacious, comfortable accommodations is greatly valued. Knowing that the room's cleanliness, comfort, and quality of sleep made your visit memorable is rewarding for our entire team. We appreciate your compliments regarding our reception and housekeeping staff—your recognition of their friendliness, helpfulness, and attention to detail is very encouraging. We are pleased that breakfast options met your needs and that you found the neighboring restaurant appealing during your time exploring Budapest. Your practical comments about the convenience of bottled water and nearby dining help provide clarity for future guests.Thank you once again for your generous feedback and perfect ratings across all aspects of your stay. It was our pleasure to welcome you, and we hope to see you again when your travels bring you back to Budapest.Best regards,

Best little small hotel in a great city

    rating05 Aug 2025

This is the best little boutique hotel in all of Budapest. From my bed on the 7th floor I could watch the majestic Parliament building all day (and night) long, as it changed colour with the sunset, sunrise, lights on, lights off...My considerations in booking the Victoria were not only THAT view across the Danube but also how central it is: I could literally walk everywhere. And as it is slap bang between the Chain and Elizabeth bridges it could not be better situated for exploring both Pest and Buda sides of the city.Apart from that it is small, with very friendly and helpful personnel, it is also clean and serves a very delicious and varied breakfast.I could not have been happier with my choice of accommodation in that great city. ZOLTAN PALMAI, General Manager at Boutique Hotel Victoria Budapest, responded to this review Dear 925altav,Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed and enthusiastic review of your stay with us.We are thrilled to know that the panoramic views from your room, especially of the Parliament building, helped to create a memorable experience. It is wonderful to hear that our central location between the Chain and Elizabeth bridges allowed you to explore both sides of Budapest with ease.Your kind words about the intimate atmosphere of our hotel, the attentive service from our team, and the quality of our breakfast are greatly appreciated. We are pleased that every aspect, from cleanliness to convenience, contributed positively to your stay.Your perfect ratings and generous feedback encourage us to continue striving for excellence. Thank you for choosing us as your home in Budapest.Best regards,

    Right along the Danube

    rating24 Jul 2025

The budget room seemed a bit sketchy at first. You have to go out the back door, go through a gate, down a ramp, through another door (using your key card each time), and climb a few stairs to get one of the three rooms. There are apartments in the same courtyard so at first I was confused about where to go because the key did not work, but it was quickly sorted out. I became more comfortable staying in the room over time, but it may not be an ideal option for some. The main draw for me was getting a more reasonable rate for a hotel room. The breakfast buffet is subpar in my opinion so I was mainly just having a croissant and orange juice. There is a restaurant next door (Belgian Brasserie Henri) which is okay if you are in a pinch for something to eat as there are less options on the Buda side compared to the Pest side. The service was friendly and professional. The laundry service is reasonable and you get clothes back the same day if you notify the front desk early enough in the morning. The hotel is in a great location - walking distance to sights on the Buda Side and right by the Danube river. A number of sights on the Pest side are also walking distance, but some (Heroes Square, etc.) you will need to use public transport or Uber.
