Great location and hotel - Love the coffee shop, dislike the Brew Pub!

    rating04 May 2026

Great locatio steps cross from the train station.Atmosphere was like a boutique hotel with a great staff!Room was nice and spacious with beautiful tall windows overlooking the train station and mountains, but the bath room was not impressive, small sink and tub, ok toilet, not enough towels. Noise level was ok, trains weren't terribly noisy Value, was a little expensive. I booked the room a couple months earlier, and it was $100 less a couple days before we got there. The cleanliness was very good,One bad thing was the Brew Pub downstairs. Food was barely edible and dips were issing when I piked up the order. How do you forget chess dip for the pretzel, and plain ranch not spicy for kids chicken tenders? Just seemed like kids were working there that didn't care. The exception was the bar, and the bartender were great! One good thing was the coffee shop downstairs. Delicious pastries, and well made coffee and lattes on their very impressive espresso machine.

    No thanks.

    rating30 Mar 2026

The place looks nice, but they always seems to have problems. A friend of mine and I had paid-for reservations. Even though we were the only ones at the desk, it took 20-25 frustrating minutes after a long train ride to get checked in due to some kind of glitch. After spending around $350 for a night you might think they'd do something to make it right. Didn't happen. And my "mountain view" room in the new section should have been called "parking lot view."We'll stay elesewhere next time. The Perfect Choice in the Perfect Spot

    rating14 Mar 2026

Wonderful feels like new in a perfect location boutique hotel! I have been visiting Glenwood Springs my entire life and always stayed the Hotel Colorado as my great great grandfather’s company were the carpenters contracted to build the hotel. This time, with a family of my own we wanted something with more space, newer and closer to restaurants, etc. We made an excellent choice! One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in through our travels worldwide! Great amenities, easy parking, amazing space. We will return!!! General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Maxwell Anderson, responded to this review We are truly grateful for your thoughtful review and for giving Hotel Maxwell Anderson a try after your family’s long tradition with Glenwood Springs. It means a great deal to our team that you found our boutique hotel not only welcoming but also the right fit for your family’s needs on this visit. Hearing that you consider us among the best you have experienced worldwide is high praise. We are so pleased you enjoyed the spacious layout, amenities, and convenient location. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back whenever your travels bring you to Glenwood Springs again!

    Hotel with a character

    rating30 Oct 2025

An historic hotel in downtown area of Glenwood springs. Old name of the hotel was Denver Hotel. Pretty central location. Good interior and exterior. Interior nicely done. All amenities. A bit pricy. Parking is outside in a lot and costs $20 per day. Breakfast was not part of deal but they have a coffee shop inside where you can have some coffee and breakfast. Overall nice and comfortable General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Maxwell Anderson, responded to this review Sainbasha, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We're glad you enjoyed the hotel's unique character, inviting spaces, and convenient location. Your feedback about pricing and amenities is appreciated and will be shared with our team as we look for ways to enhance our guest experience. We hope you had a pleasant visit to Glenwood Springs.

    Rather a Strange Place

    rating18 Oct 2025

This hotel is for lack of a better word, odd. That’s the only way I can think to describe it. Our room was huge, however, with two bathrooms which were the size of closets. There was literally no space to place anything anywhere in the bathrooms, The water pressure was terrible and it took forever to get hot water in the shower. I can say that the room was quiet and the room darkening drapes did their job. But this is not a property I would stay in again simply for the reason that everything about the room was inconvenient. Bad design. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Maxwell Anderson, responded to this review Britishcats, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We're sorry your stay wasn't as comfortable as you'd hoped, and we appreciate you highlighting both the positive and challenging aspects of your visit. Your feedback about the room layout and bathroom has been shared with our team for review. We value your perspective and will use your comments as we continue to look for ways to improve the guest experience.
