    My daughter and I were very warmly welcomed upon our arrival at the hotel. The rooms were well-maintained. As I am sensitive to noise, I requested a room change, and the staff handled it very quickly. The breakfast was perfect for starting the day well and set off to explore the city.     I had another great stay at the Holiday Inn Express. Miss Kim, Nikki, Tartila, Ana, and Ariel were so nice and helpful. The ladies who managed the breakfast area were also friendly and welcoming. Everyone who worked there was just so amazing. The breakfast was varied, the rooms were clean, and I am going to stay there again soon.     Value Hotel in the Heart of FiDi

    My friend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in FiDi for a birthday weekend. It was a great value compared to other hotels in Manhattan and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the room type upon check in (we used Expedia, not booking directly) and the front desk agent, Destiny, helped us with obtaining a room with a sofa bed for the remainder of our stay. She was super kind and thoughtful throughout our stay and I truly think that the hotel has a star employee in her! We also had a slight problem with our toilet and she was able to fix the problem quickly and efficiently while we were out and about. Thanks, Destiny! You truly made our stay great. P.S. The pillows are quite nice!     Okay for one night

    I stayed here with my family (2 adults, 2 kids) for 1 night before a cruise from Brooklyn. The hotel did the job, but I don't think I would stay there again. First, the positives. We were traveling from Penn Station. The hotel was about a 15-minute walk from the Fulton Street subway station, and a 5-minute walk from the Wall Street/Pier 11 Ferry stop (20 minutes from the Red Hook ferry stop). We got in late, but several restaurants were open nearby. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The coffee station had hot chocolate. The free breakfast was a bit crowded, but it had a good variety, including pancakes. My child who is allergic to eggs had no trouble finding something he could eat. Now, the negatives. The TV in our room didn't work. The shower hadn't been cleaned. I'd requested a roll-away bed when I made my reservation. I called the night before to confirm that we had a roll-away bed. When I checked in, the front desk clerk said the hotel doesn't have roll-away beds. We made things work, but it would have been nice if someone had mentioned that earlier. The hotel was fine for 1 night, but I would go elsewhere for a longer stay.     I had a two-night stay at this place. Upon check in I asked Karina the receptionist, if she needed me to pay my balance or would it be processed at check out and she just took my card. However, she failed to check that Holiday Inn Express IHG already had charged my card earlier that day. She proceeded to run my card another 2X which led to an unnecessary hold of more of my money than I was expecting. The hold lasted more than a week until it was finally taken off. I had sent an email to who I believed was the manager, same name of whom I would later speak to, and same hotel name matched the email I had sent. I got no response. When I phoned him, he said he had not gotten that email. He made no mention of guest relations communicating with him, as I had relayed to IHG the issue of the hold. The only thing the manager said was an apology. Communication evidently needs substantial improvement, as well as rectifying holds faster. I believe the issue is with this location, as I have had positive experience with other IHG Holiday Inn Express hotels in the nation. Also, for this location, hot water was not available the second evening of my stay, I evidently only was able to have hot water my first night. Some pros were despite no pool/whirlpool, there was a mini gym, the location of the hotel was walking distance to Battery Park, the breakfast was good, and I was able to get up and down stairs with ease as I requested a floor closest to ground level. I am not a fan of elevators. However, based on my overall experience at this location, I cannot recommend this specific location.
