  Just what I needed.

  Great Ocean-facing location on main street Reasonable price.Comfortable room (4B)Friendly staffI needed somewhere quiet for Bali's "Nyepi" day of silence and no going out/work/parties/cooking, and Ida's was fully booked so I checked my options and tried Dewa Bharata. I am fully satisfied with my stay, and through forced isolation and introspection gained new insights.Reading the reviews I expected worse than I got. The gardens are great, pools seem fine - I didn't go in. Some areas of the hotel need repairs and maintenance.I didn't need the aircon so can't commentUpstairs means poor water pressure while the pump is still not working, but for a couple of showers it was no real hardship :)

  Private Beach Access, This Way!

  We went for a weekend trip and found this paradise. The location is just perfect, literally 8 steps to the private beach - yes the beach is only yours no one else in this beach. If I am not mistaken the beach called Sengkidu and it has a beautuful crystal clear water where you can see all the beautiful fishes and sea creatures swimming. The room was OK, hot and cold water run as normal. Try getting the room number 05 with a new interior and sofa installed. The staffs were super friendly and very senior, we wonder they have worked there for more than 10 years. They always greet our kids nicely - top hospitality. Very well-maintained garden, we loved every corner. Will definitely be back again!

  The low price isn’t enough to stay here, don’t do it. They are constructing a whole new building about 2/3 meters from your room. We got stuck here for 3 days over Xmas as we had booked here and when we found out on arrival everywhere else in our price range was fully booked. Their aircon do not work either. AT ALL. So don’t pay any extra than a fan room. That would have been better. Only even closer to the bang bang bANG of construction, all day long.

  I have stayed at Dewa Bharata Bungalows, Candidasa, many times over the last 25 years, but after this last visit I won’t be returning. Yes, the property is old, and doesn’t cost very much. However, now it’s also run down. The rooms were very dirty. There were cobwebs on the light fixtures, and mold all over the bathroom shower curtain. The screen in the bathroom was full of holes and rusty. There was no daily housekeeping. There was rarely anyone at the reception desk. There was an electrical cord strung across the walkway to the rooms. It was a little above the top of my head but would have been a real danger to anyone taller than me, especially at night, when the lighting is poor in general. The trim on the stairs was loose, and a trip hazard. With all the hotels in Bali with warm, friendly people and well-maintained facilities, there is simply no reason to choose Dewa Bharata Bungalows. On a final note, there is currently construction at the hotel, and until it is finished it is very noisy during the day.

  The rooms are very sad looking but if you book the deluxe sea-view rooms it makes it worthwhile. The amazing views makes up for the tired rooms. Pool and gardens are nice. Staff lovely. Road is very busy. Pay extra for the better room otherwise you could be a bit disappointed.
