    Poor breakfast embarrassing for IHG brand

    Below average breakfast This is probably an average hotel , so I did not put 2*, but I think IHG should know that this particular location has a below average breakfast, serving only turkey and pork sausage every single day with pre-made frozen omelet’s no variety at all, no bacon, no scrambled eggs. Their dairy products are almost expired or already expired.Bread seems to be used and reused daily in the plastic storage unit. This same location. about 6 months ago served a better choice breakfast, that means they decided to save on guests, hoping nobody will notice. It is hard not to and it is embarrassing for the IHG brand.So honestly speaking, doing renovations and changing furniture and serving such breakfast to people do not go together. To be honest, it was tough to read your comments because I truly care about this hotel and our guests' experience. I agree with you, a beautiful renovation doesn't mean much if the breakfast doesn't live up to the same standard.I want to sincerely apologize that your experience felt like a step backward. I’d like to share a bit of what’s happening behind the scenes, as I’ve actually been working hard to do the opposite of "saving on guests."A few months ago, I made the personal decision to stop ordering frozen, thawed first breads. I now go out myself at least twice a week to buy fresh bread, bagels, and muffins from a local vendor because I want our guests to have a fresher experience. I do the same with our fruit. It’s disappointing to hear that this didn't translate during your stay, and I’ll be looking into our presentation to make sure that freshness is obvious.Regarding the variety, we are required by IHG to serve the turkey and pork items, but we always have our optional items such as the scrambled eggs, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy available as well. We did have a temporary supply issue with our brand standard bacon recently, which I know is frustrating when you're looking forward to a full breakfast.Lastly, please rest assured that we monitor our dairy dates daily. We follow "best by" dates strictly and would never intentionally serve an expired product.I’m sorry we let you down this time.     Friendly checkin staff. Room is nice size and bed is comfortable.Limited pantry snacks available but lots of dining options nearby. OK TV. Bathrooms are clean. Laundry set up requires app setup and amounts in 10 dollar increments (a bit of a pain).     If you want to stay at a place that has landscapers come at 7:30 in the morning then this is your place!!!     It was a very disappointing experience I paid and booked my room 2 weeks before when I arrived at the hotel the gentleman called me a few hours before to ask me if I wanted that room he wanted to give me a single bed when I booked one with 2 beds and a sofa for 6 people I told him that if they were going to reimburse me the difference he told me that I did not tell him that I wanted what I asked for when the rent arrived my room and he gave me only one bed when I paid a lot for that reservation I grabbed it because it occupied it but it was not enough for my family and they did not give me a refund of the difference in room and they charged me a deposit of 50 the staff who have nothing professional that they do what they want and do not respect the reservations I expect a refund very,… IHG Service, Owner at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kendall East - Miami By IHG, responded to this review Hi Mi B,Thank you for staying at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Kendall East - Miami.     This hotel was perfect for our mini spring break vacation. We came down to see some family and upon getting here early Genderly Mendez was at the from desk upon arrival with a wonderful smile on her face. Yes the hotel is in need of repairs and repairs are being made. Some areas of the floor were dirty, but inside the hotel room was spotless. Sheets were clean, towels stocked, amenities were stocked full. Breakfast was perfect for us as we don’t usually eat a heavy breakfast in the mornings. Also upon checkout Genderly was an absolute doll and let my son swim for a few hours after we checked out of the room. Budget friendly, clean, and convenient. I will be coming back to this hotel the next time we come to visit family.
