    Great family holiday

We stayed at Nalini as a family of 6.It is a small hotel with 9 rooms in a stunning location- right at the water's edge. The views from the Ocean view suites are stunning and the sunrise is beautiful. It is very close to the Japanese wreck which is the best place to snorkel in Amed. The coral is rich and healthy with plenty of fish- even saw a turtle. One can go in directly from the hotel - beach is pebbly,so watershoes are recommended. The hotel is very tastefully designed from the lovely little garden to the outdoor showers.Ari and him team did an excellent job in making us welcome and the food is delicious. Definitely coming back for a longer stay.

Beautiful relaxing resort. We have stayed many times in the past 10 years and they continue to update and grow this wonderful resort. The staff are fabulous and the accommodation is clean fresh and extremely comfortable. The Boatshed restaurant never fails to impress.

The setting at Nalini was top notch, the rooms beautiful and well appointed. The sound of the ocean was nothing but hypnotic with the ocean running over the stones making an amazing sound I'll never forget. Relax, relax. Beautiful pool and probably the best food I've had in Bali, every meal was next level and full of flavours.

    A Paradise

    rating11 Nov 2025

Nalini Resort is a small family-managed Hotel with Ari and his Wife as friendly and sympathetic owners. They are like friends and care for the well-being of their guests. The resort is located directly at the beach far away from the busy but small Main road. So it is a calm and peaceful place to relax. Left and right of the resort are the Jukungs (boats) of the fishermen and it is amazing to watch them come back from fishing in the morning around 8 o'clock. The resort has only 8 rooms - three of them with a Seaview and five with a view into the garden. All rooms are clean and equipped with tasteful wooden furniture. The two larger suites are located on the first floor and have a wonderful and undisturbed view of the sea. Access to these 2 rooms is over a steep staircase. Rooms are therefore not recommended for handicapped people.A surprise was the hotel's own kitchen/restaurant. Everything is freshly prepared and of astonishing taste and quality. There we had one of the best meals during our two-month stay in Bali. The pebble beach offers crystal clear water but you should wear shoes if you want to swim or snorkel there. For divers: there is the famous Japanese shipwreck just a hundred meters in front of the resort.Cooking classes and yoga courses are provided in extra-equipped rooms with Seaview. All in all a paradise which I can recommend full-heartedly.

Good to watch the fishing fleet.

Our second time to Nalini, staying 4 nights, but sadly not as good as the first time. Why? Well small things that add up! No instructions on how to operate the safe! No information in the room about anything (massage/transport), had to ask for it. We saw a number of people go to Reception and ask for help with their safes. Staff waitress in the restaurant doubling up as the Receptionist/run off her feet. The owners are lovely people - but they seem to have taken their finger off the pulse, with no general oversight of the smaller things. The staff do a good job, but they get tired, and at times are not as efficient as they could be. We initially went to Nalini because we snorkel, but sadly accessing the water is difficult with the large stones and rocks, and waves to contend with. This is not Nalini's fault, but it is a consideration for some people. The pool and grounds are beautiful. Our room and view just great, and its wonderful watching the village fishermen go out and return every morning. But to get to Nalini takes extra effort, as it's a fair way out of Amed, and given the limitations with water access and a feeling that the place now lacks some oversight, we sadly won't be returning.
