    Everything is forgiven at breakfast

    rating30 Mar 2026

I have stayed here twice recently, staying in both single and double rooms. The single was a bit of a broom cupboard and very noisy, you can hear constant commotion from neighbours on either side, neighbours above, and people passing outside your door. The double suffered similarly with noise, i had a big dog barking next door!? Consequently, it wasn't the best night's sleep on either occasion. The shower in both rooms was strong and hot. The rates were very reasonable both times however, so all in all i feel it was fair. There is a nice bar area serving a good range of drinks and food. Where this place really shined for me was at breakfast. You can expect a full Scottish breakfast, buffet style, including tatty scones and haggis, plus all the usual continental stuff. It was so tasty though, really one of the better hotel breakfasts i have had anywhere for a while! What this place lacks in certain areas it makes up for in others, and i would definitely stay again if i needed a budget-friendly hotel in the area. Shaun Sim, General Manager at Dunollie Hotel, responded to this review Dear Moving_Goujon,Thank you for taking the time to share such a fair and detailed review. We’re very pleased to hear that you found our rates reasonable, enjoyed the bar area, and especially that breakfast stood out as a highlight of your stay. Our team will be delighted to know that the Full Scottish breakfast, including the tattie scones and haggis, made such a good impression. We are sorry, however, that noise affected your sleep on both occasions. We understand how important a restful night is, and we regret that this was not fully achieved during your visits. Your comments regarding room noise will be shared with the team for review. It’s also good to hear that the showers were strong and hot, and we truly appreciate your balanced feedback and your willingness to stay with us again. We hope to welcome you back to Dunollie Hotel in the future for an even better experience.Kind regards,Dunollie Hotel Management

Vastly overpriced for limited standard provided

    rating06 Sept 2025

Very expensive hotel for very limited standard provided. Food well below standard expected for cost. Bar prices also very expensive. Room was small & only window view was of an enclosed internal courtyard. Would not stay here again or recommend to others. Hotel was clean & staff friendly. Shaun Sim, General Manager at Dunollie Hotel, responded to this review Dear Gordon,Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We’re pleased you found the hotel clean and our team friendly. We appreciate your comments on value, and it’s important to note that the Isle of Skye is a highly sought-after destination where demand is very strong, especially during peak season. Operating in such a remote and beautiful location also means higher logistical costs in terms of supplies, staffing, and services, which is reflected across accommodation and hospitality on the island. Our aim is always to provide guests with comfortable rooms, stunning surroundings, and warm Highland hospitality, and we’re glad those aspects came through during your visit.Warm regards,Dunollie Hotel Management

Very comfortable hotel. Room was plain but very comfortable and clean with stunning views over the bay. We ate in the restaurant which was very nice. We were lucky and had a seat in the large window overlooking the bay. Breakfast was good. Shaun Sim, General Manager at Dunollie Hotel, responded to this review Dear JQ,Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words. We’re delighted to hear that you had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the stunning views over the bay – especially from your seat in the restaurant. It’s also wonderful to know that both dinner and breakfast met your expectations, and we appreciate your note about parking which will be helpful for future guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Dunollie again soon.Warm regards,Dunollie Hotel Management

Alright food not great decor and a lot of food was artificial and bought

    rating29 Jul 2025

We arrived at the dunollie hotel restaurant, burger was good but chips were definitely bought and thrown in the oven, the muscles where potentially not fresh but the sauce was pretty good, the Mac and cheese was good and filling, overall was pretty expensive for what you get and decor was not amazing but overall 3/5 stars Shaun Sim, General Manager at Dunollie Hotel, responded to this review Dear Joel,Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the burger, mac and cheese, and mussel sauce during your visit, though we’re sorry to learn that other aspects of your dining experience did not fully meet expectations.Your comments about food quality, value, and décor are greatly appreciated. We are always working to improve and will take your feedback on board as we continue to enhance both our menu and the overall dining atmosphere. We hope you might consider visiting us again in the future so we can provide you with an even better experience.Warm regards,Dunollie Hotel Management
