  Lovely hotel with amazing beach

  What a beautiful resort, staff amazing, food good, beach is great. Entertainment was not always our taste but there was always something going on. Room was lovely, we had the room with an ocean view so up high, don’t book if you don’t want to climb 53 steps to bed.The hotel is quite remote so if you want to go out stay somewhere else.

  The Pineapple Beach Club Resort - it keeps getting better

  We have returned from the Pineapple this week after an amazing 10 day stay.To be completely open this was our 7th visit to the Pineapple and Antigua.We last visited the Pineapple in 2024, so have seen all of the renovations and improvements that have taken place recently. Our Room:Usually we try to book an Ocean View Room, on this occasion we were unable to book one of these, and were allocated a Pool terrace room for this visit by the tour operator. The room was more compact than the Ocean View room, BUT it was very comfortable, perfectly adequate, and we found it to be more convenient than the Ocean View room as it was far closer to everything. It had a very secluded and private terrace, the tickled turtle bar was almost opposite our room. The coffee shop, Sly Mongoose bar and Topaz resteraunt were all very close, the beach was no more than a two minute walk away.The resort We immediately noticed the first major upgrade upon arrival, the new covered reception area, with seating opposite the reception building, all very tasteful and really well done. The booking process was also very efficient, scan a QR code outside the reception, that immediately logged you onto the resorts Wi-Fi and presents the booking in form which was very easy to complete.The improvements to the coffees shop, shop and seating area was already in place during our last visit, it is very impressive, and a comfortable place to sit in the shade if necessary. The coffee shop is an amazing edition to the resort, the staff were incredible, more of that later.The resterauntsThe Topaz has been completely renovated, those who have been before will recall the ‘sunken’ area that used to be part of the restaurant, this has now gone, the floor level raised, roofed over and provides a lot more useable space that allows for more tables and seating area. It appears to have been refurnished and has been reflowed. The food preperation area has been updated, the old hand rail that separated it from the main restaurant has been replaced with a full floor to ceiling wall with glass panels. However, it retains its charm, the updates are very impressive.The food was very good, plentiful and a great selection, my wife would say that I am a fussy eater and never had any issues finding something. The staff were very attentive and ensured we had fresh water, and if we wanted anything from the bar, they got it from the bar for us.We did not use the Italian restaurant so cannot comment, but did note that it is now completely enclosed in the same way as the Topaz food prep area.We were able to book the Pineapple Grill and Orchids restaurants very easily. Guest services now open at 7am, we simply walked past, no queuing as with previous visits.The Pineapple Grill was very good, the service was great as was the food.The Orchids was worth every penny of the up charge, the service was exceptional, and food incredible, we would highly recommend the Orchids.The Outhouse was as always a great place to eat, with the most amazing Ribs and Chicken.The Pelican Grill remains the same, it was a delight to see Sherri-Ann again, and have one of her burgers. Guest ServicesHave moved across the floor from next to the Sly Mongoose to near the toilets. The staff were very good, as mentioned we never had any issues booking anything with them.The StaffI cannot stress enough that the Pineapple and Elite should be very proud of their staff. They were amazing all of the time, they treated us like family, they were very welcoming, kind and efficient. I am not going to name all of those we met and encountered, the list would be far too long. It was lovely to see regular staff, those we have known since our first visit in 2012, it is incredible that they remember us, but they do, and greet us with a smile and in some cases a hug. The coffee shop staff were really bubbly, and such a fun pair who started our day with a smile. The bar staff were all very good, even when it was busy. The lady who looked after our room was lovely, we spoke to her regularly. As Brits, tipping is not something that we usually do, but we felt it only appropriate to do so. The bar, we used the Sly Mongoose primarily, I do not drink alcohol so cannot really detail what they have, I rely on soft drinks which were ample, the fruit punch was particularly good. My wife does enjoy a cocktail and enjoys the Mudslide (alcholic chocolate!!) and the rum punch. We did use the Aqua bar when we were on the beach, this was equally as good and convenient. There is not usually a beach service but on this visit, some of the amazing staff did provide us with drinks on the beach.The Beach, what can you say about the beach at the Pineapple, other than it is beautiful and the best place to sit and relax. There was a little seaweed wash up some days, however the grounds staff cleared it really quickly, raking it up, and then using a small tractor and trailer to remove equally as quickly. We were happy to meet up with Marvin and Garth (G-Man) and Freddy (that’s the name he uses for us - who makes the bracelets). We walked the beach every day before breakfast, and again during the day. We enjoyed the fish at the far end of the beach, and although the first few days had a red flag displayed, once they came down, snorkelling was good with plenty to see. A small point was access to the Bach next to the Topaz, during previous visits that was a slope in the sand, this has now been replaced with a nicely constructed set of simple steps and hand rail, which is much better, and a retaining wall from there around to the Waterfront rooms, all part of the renovations. We also noted that there many more sun loungers on the beach than during our previous visit, all new. There were plenty of beach towels available, however we were aware of people complaining that there were not enough. We think that may be due to guests taking more than they should. We also heard people complain of guests ‘booking’ loungers first thing in the morning by placing towels on them. Some of this did take place, but we did not get to the beach before ten thirty in the morning, and always got a pair of loungers somewhere on the beach with no issues. The evening entertainmentThere was regular evening entertainment which ranged from a DJ, bands, and karaoke (not our thing). The entertainment team were amazing, they had people up and dancing, they delivered tan tremendous street party / carnival night on the Friday night, which alternates with a beach party, which unfortunately we were not there long enough to experience this time (but did during our last visit).The gymThe resorts gym is very well equipped, whilst we were there new barbells were delivered along with some new cardio equipment (although getting to the gym is a good workout in itself). There is a good selection of cardio machines, plate loaded resistance machines and dumbells.A minor point to highlight is the toilets that serve the Sly Mongoose, they have been very nicely renovated, but they have been swapped around so for guests who have visited before, please be aware that the gents is now where the ladies used to be!Our visit to the Pineapple was as always incredible. The staff were amazing treating us like family, the renovations have made a huge difference BUT the resort retains all of its charm that we have come to love.

  Solo Birthday Trip

  This trip was booked by my travel agent and was hands down one of the best Solo trips I have been on. The resort wasn’t as crowded as other resorts I have been on. The staff and guests were friendly and nice. I did not feel like I was on a solo trip because I always had someone to talk to. Entertainment was great and they made my birthday feel special by singing to me and taking shots with me I will definitely go back.

  Wonderful Staff Turned a Rocky Start into a Memorable Stay

  We recently stayed at Pineapple Beach Club Antigua for a special trip with both our partner and family, and overall had a very enjoyable experience.Our stay did start off a bit underwhelming. The initial room had a musty smell and felt quite worn down, which was not what we expected for such an important trip. However, after contacting reception, we had the pleasure of working with Dalia, who was absolutely wonderful. She was kind, understanding, and took our concerns seriously. Within an hour or two, she was able to move us into a different room without any issues. Her professionalism and care truly turned our experience around, and we are very grateful to her for that.In terms of the resort itself, the rooms could definitely benefit from updates, as some areas feel dated. The food was also somewhat inconsistent, and as someone with a dairy allergy, it was challenging at times since allergens were not clearly labeled. This made dining a bit stressful, as I often had to guess what was safe to eat.That said, what truly makes this resort stand out — and what elevated our stay to a 4-star experience — is the staff. The vast majority of the team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. There were only a couple of interactions during our week-long stay that were less than ideal, but they were far outweighed by the many positive ones.We’d especially like to recognize a few individuals who made a lasting impression:Jo-Ann at the omelette station each morning, Natalia with room service, Clementina, Annetta, and Renee at the coffee shop, Morva at the Orchid and Pineapple Grill restaurants, Anderson, Kareem, and Clinton who assisted us with transportation to and from our rental car, and Antoinette, Vernice, Dalia, and Donna at reception, all of whom were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our stay.Overall, while there are areas for improvement—particularly with room updates and food/allergen transparency—the staff’s kindness and dedication made a meaningful difference in our experience. With a few upgrades, this resort has the potential to be truly exceptional.
