Beautiful Oasis in Seminyak
08 Oct 2017
Amazing villa in the heart of Seminyak, yet hidden away enough to feel secluded from the busy surrounds! Laksmana Hideaway was absolutely wonderful from the moment we checked in!! Our children instantly jumped into the amazing pool from the bridge that connects the 2 bedrooms. Welcome drinks, cool refresher towels and a complete run down of how, where and what to do at Villa Laksmana...A little difficult to find when we arrived (use Kilo the restaurant as a marker for the lane you need to turn down) but this is the beauty of this villa....being a hidden oasis! About 2 minutes walk to eat street or to the opposite side a less busy street where we enjoyed daily massages, beautiful restaurants (Kilo, Zibiru and Lacalaca) all at your doorstep....What could be better than waking up and feeling you are literally floating on an island! The concept of this villa is just superb! The absolute highlight of this villa is the housekeeper Liza, she greeted the children with hugs and kisses each morning and coffee and big smiles for my husband and I! Her breakfasts are out of this world! How she can cook such a feast in 15 minutes was mind boggling to us! We made the mistake of venturing out for breakfast one morning and disappointed it wasn't as good as Lizas....so stay in for the rest of our stay for the best breakfasts in Seminyak! Liza hurriedly cleaned after us and always ensured the fridge was stocked with icy cold Bintangs so we could relax and enjoy a beer around the beautiful pool! Don't believe previous reviews....if you're honestly going to complain about a small bit of timber around the pool that is a bit worn....then why bother coming on holidays....stay in the comfort of your own home and complain about that instead. Thank you Laksmana Hideaway for an amazing week in Seminyak....special thanks to Liza who we feel now is family after our stay! Highly recommended!!!!

Fantastic villa but....
29 Aug 2017
The villa is Fantastic and yes the pool must have Some taking care of. Loved the open living room. Two bedrooms with airco and very close to the Main Street in Seminyak. The small street next to the villa is very noisy, lots of scooters driving through at night. This was the first time we felt uncomfortable with the cleaning lady. Everywhere we have been we have had nice staff. But now it really felt like an invasion of our privacy. She came in without ringing the doorbell using her key. She asked us what time we would like her to come but came in at her convenience. She would fold our clothes in our suitcase.Without asking she took our laundry. She stayed too long. On our last they we asked her to come in at 11.30 as we would be leaving 12.00. When she came in at 10 I sent her away. She demonstratively sat on the floor in front of the house waiting. If you go make good arrangements about this with the manager. The house is fantastic but above was really annoying.

Needs updating
30 Apr 2017
Having stretched our budget to book the villa that our kids desperately wanted 'with the pool running through it and a bridge walkway', we checked in but were unfortunately disappointed with the state of the villa considering it's cost. We had stayed in another villa 2 years prior which was just gorgeous - beautifully kept and decorated with serious wow factor (and it was cheaper per night than this one!), so we had expected Laksmana to be even more amazing. But our first impressions of the villa were a letdown (it didn't help that the villa had just been fumigated for mozzies, so the smell at first was horrible, but we understood it would dissipate and help keep mozzies away). The villa is spacious, clean and provides the basic comforts, but there is nothing modern or luxurious about this place - the kitchen is almost caravan style (rusty fridge door, old appliances and utensils), the bathroom floor tiles were worn and grubby looking and the tap fittings and lighting need an update. The decking around the pool is rough and there are nails sticking out here and there which was a worry with young kids. The pool itself is amazing in concept, but it needs to be resurfaced due to age and staining. The bamboo blinds on the fence and villa are weathered and faded and the furnishings seem a bit thrown together without much care for design or aesthetic appeal (something we have become used to with our previous accommodation in Bali). It would help to have a tv in the bedrooms (where the only aircon is) and some greenery/plants throughout the villa for some freshness and colour. The walk to Eat Street is a wee hike an alleyway (comes out next to The Bistrot), but the villa is still fairly well located (and far enough from main streets to be quiet and peaceful). There is a rice field though the windows but they are covered with blinds for privacy (not easily opened). While the concept overall is wonderful and this place would have been amazing years ago, it is currently feeling tired and rundown, so it did not meet our expectations for the price we were paying (our most expensive accom in Seminyak to date). Had we been paying less we would have expected some age and wear and tear. There have been some very positive reviews so were were confused when we saw the villa in person. On the upside, the staff (Liza and Trisna) were lovely and welcoming and did everything they could to make us feel comfortable so we felt we were in good hands. Liza kept the villa clean and tidy for us throughout our stay. Mr G was also very helpful and offered us massages as he was aware that we had expressed our disappointment with the villa. We had arranged a late check out (as our flight was a late one) which was appreciated and our transport to the airport was also arranged which was also great. The wifi was also good.At the risk of sounding fussy, based on our experience with Bali accommodation over 5 previous visits, and knowing what is available in this price range, I feel it only fair to advise future guests what to expect and the quality of the villa for the price. We hope our impressions and suggestions might also help the owners consider much needed updates that would really benefit the villa and satisfy guests. We wouldn't stay again unless the villa had a serious makeover (not just minor band-aid repairs and patch ups!). While the concept and layout is amazing and the villa is neatly presented, it is overpriced for what you get.

Perfect
10 Apr 2017
Beautiful Villa, perfect location. Clean, comfortable , secure and amazing pool. Outdoor showers in ensuites , huge bedrooms with king sized comfy beds and pillows. Two mums just had the most perfect holiday in beautiful surrounds. 200 metres from Eat Street and fantastic shopping. Huge supermarket just up the road and convenience stores even closer . Amazing restaurants up and down Eat Street with every type of food you could possibly want.Sharyn was amazing to deal with when booking and our host Ketut and his team ( night guard, cleaners and pool man) were so friendly, kind and professional. Ketut is a lovely man and nothing was to much trouble. I highly recommend staying here. You definitely won't be disappointed. You will be thrilled, we were.

Well located - excellent service and hospitality
30 Dec 2016
Had my winter holiday with totally 4 persons, so decided to go with the villa accommodation that is rather cheap and more cozy compared to hotel prices and rooms.Villa reservations automatically included an airport pick up, which is highly recommended at Bali if available as the traffic is totally chaos and taxi prices varies.Villa manager "Mr. G" was personally at present when we arrived afrer 30-40min drive from the Bali airport. First he offered us fresh local fruit smoothies and introduced all the services included the villa price and also available for extra fee as well as the villa functionalities. We also got a very own cell phone to use for all necessary calls; taxis, questions to Mr. G etc. That was a priviledge as we need no worry about the local network prices after that. Via Mr. G everything was available and arrangable; car with a driver for daily trips to north of Bali, recommendations to best sites, massagists and aroma treatments at the villa(!) etc.During our 10 days visit everything worked as smooth as it started. Villa staff; pool guys and Lisa, our housemaid, were wery professional and discreet giving us our privacy. Lisa also cooked breakfast in the mornings with rather small price, ~300.000 IDR that is cirka 21 EUR, for 4 persons. Local delicacies were worth it. Also cold beers were automatically refilled in the fridge ;-)The villa itself was original Bali-style, well located (only walk distance to main streets and shops), beaufiful and cozy. The heart of the villa was certainly the pool that covered nearly our whole backyard starting straight from our bedroom doors <3 Of course some parts at the villa needed renovation but they didn't stole our attention too much.Only negative thing to mentions was that once we had mosquito poisoning at the villas (two side-by-side villas) we didn't get the info about that beforehand. One morning we woke up as the engine strated to run at the villa pool next to ours and "mosquito smoke" spread all over... first we thought that the villas are on fire, but as we called to Mr. G he apologized the inconvenience and explained the whole thing.Highly recommended!
