  This resort is stunning! Our villa was charming, complete with a private swimming pool. It was immaculately clean, and well air-conditioned. The room offered several amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds and public pool are gorgeous. The restaurant offered a variety of food choices, and each were beautifully presented. The real gem of this resort is the staff. They are completely gracious and so willing to accommodate every possible need. They are fully service-oriented.

  One of my best beach holidays.

  I stayed at Sudamala Seraya for 7 nights with my wife in March 2026. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Let me break it down for all those of you considering going but are on the fence. SeasonNovember to February is rainy season. March is a mixture if rain and sunshine. April onwards get quite sunny up till August. September/ October is a mixture. If you go during months that are a mix of weather it's your luck if you get sunny days. But the rain clears up pretty quickly because Seraya itself is a small island. Unless its a massive storm. Most tourist go between May till August. The resort gets pretty full and you pay peak season rates. Rain or shine its an amazing place to be at. Atmosphere It's quiet, peaceful, serene...surrounded by nature and the sounds of birds and the gentle lapping of waves on the shore. RoomsThere are beach chalets and there are chalets up on the hill. I stayed on the beach chalets. Open your front door and the beach is barely 50m. It felt like I was living right on the sand with the sea at my door step. It was amazing. Rooms are very clean. Everyday, housekeeping comes in the morning to clean up. They don't just clean the rooms, the beach gets cleaned everyday as well. So you are assured white sands with zero thrash on it. Their toilets are very rustic. They are partially outdoor, so if it rains you might end up showering in the rain. Otherwise its a fully functioning toilet with a Japanese Toilet (for travellers who need a bidet, not to worry). The only downside to a partially outdoor toilet is the mosquitoes. But the resort takes care of that with mosquito coils they light up outdoors in the toilet during their turn down service. Activities In most islands and resorts you have to pay for a snorkeling experience. But at Sudamala the corals are right at your beach front. I enjoyed the free snorkeling experience with amazing marine life. Not just fishes, but star fishes, turtles and if you're lucky you might spot a baby shark or 2. You can rent all the snorkeling gear you want for FREE at the resort. Sudamala also organises expeditions for its guests (paid), if you want to go diving in different locations, also if you want to go visit the main attractions (Padang Island, pink beach, Komodo Island, Manta Ray point...etc)FoodGiven that I stayed 7 nights at the resort, I had tried almost all the dishes on the menu. Their food quality and taste is pretty good compared to other Island resorts. They also have BBQ nights twice a week with fresh seafood and meats. StaffThe staff of Sudamala made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Everyone speaks English, which is so important for international guests who don't speak Bahasa Indonesia. Their hotel manager Bimbi Sanjaya was very friendly and extremely helpful and guiding us on things to do and places to go in Labuan Baju. He even helped us get a GoPro for our snorkeling trip to see the Manta Ray's. I've never met a friendly and more help hotel manager than Bimbi. Thanks to him our stay was that much more special. LogisticsGetting to and fro Sudamala Seraya is a bit tricky because it's a separate island away from Labuan Baju so the boat timings are not frequent. My advise is plan your trip accordingly and check with the hotel on their shuttle boat and airport transfer timings so that you can maximise your stay at Flores, especially if you don't stay as long as we did. My wife and I would like to thank all the staff at Sudamala Seraya and Bimbi for making us feel at home and taking such good care of us during our stay. 10 stars!!!!   Small island, small beautiful resort with such a big heart.

  My stay in the resort island has never been far from perfect. This was my second stay and it keeps getting better. Such a small island but quite a lot to do. The staff, service, food and activities are just wonderful. Always looking forward to come back.   Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was great and allergy (gf for celiac) was accommodated well. Excursions (snorkelling, etc) leave right from the resort so very convenient. Coral reef at the property was great also. Very relaxing spot for a vacation.
